A few things, we made two mill after selling players.
Would have been a loss overwise
Some people get this idea bates is shrewd.
WTF chelsea was never finished and leeds went into admin
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Wakey...You don't learn do you!
He bought Chelsea for a quid and made many millions profit plus a a penthouse suite valued at several millions when he sold it after building a new ground hotels and shopping center as well as buying great players like Gullitt, Zola, Vialli, Poyet plus many more who took Chelsea to the top.
How many bob do you expect to be worth when you retire?
The boy done good and he'll do good for us if he lives long enough.
Koppie
He paid a quid and spent loads more onthe debts and other things
He just didn't spend a quid you thick c un t
And he was bailed out be others that's why in the end her hardly owned much of Chelsea because he give the rest of shares to be bailed out.
Getting 17m for chelsea when man u went for 800m at the same time Shows you how bad he was at business
Bates is going nowhere. We are stuck with him until someone gives the hitman a ring.
leedsmadness, you say it's ok for Bates to take money out of teh club.
Seeing as Bates says he draws now salary from leeds would you care to tell us how he takes the money out that you say he's entitled to?
Jonty with bates now being the owner rather than on the payroll, he can justify any money going out of the club. He also realizes that now he's put his neck out, the fans will be queuing upto to snap it off if things start badly next season.
When the banks crashed; football didn't crash - it blipped. London house prices didn't crash they blipped.
Some things in life are relatively Platinum coated because of the existence of the rich. Unfortunately, solvent or not you can't have your cake and eat it in the Premiership these days. You HAVE to have either a huge name/reputation or a huge benefactor and preferably both if you want your club to cut it at the top of th football echelons.,,,,,,,,
Jonty i didn't say he did take money out of the club, but to many people on here thinks he does, what im saying so what if he does its his company.
leedsmadness, here is what you actually said:
Of course he take the cream, its a business of course he's going to take a cut, show me any business owner who doesn't take a cut of the profits.
So are you now saying that when you say 'of course he take the cream' what you actually mean is 'of course he is entitled to take the cream if he wants to but I don't think he actually is at the minute'?
Real estate the amount of money a benefactor has wont mean squat if the Football League make the right decision today. it could give a little club like us an advantage over most of our competition.
Jonty cant argue with my own words, the point is its his company if he does or doesn't take money out of the club that's his business. And he can have the cream as well, ha ha
madness, if he does take money out, do you think he should also say that he does?
Can someone tell us who it was that turned our club from owing MILLIONS into a club that does not owe MILLIONS?
Come on, put up or shut up!
We know we went down like a dead weight and that we're climbing back up the greasy pole. We know some fans don't like our Chairman and we know some want rid, but who was it?
Jonty in the reality of thing would it make any difference to us if he told us or not, i know we all like to have a dig at him on occasions, But we finished 7th last season in our first season back with a squad of players we bought up with us, even Kasper was Notts County, so cant really moan.
leedsmadness -
a) Problem is, the FL don't have the best reputation for making good decisions!!
b) Unfortunately, the Championship is hardly representative of the 'top echelons of football'.
Our goal is the Premiership, and right now there is no restriction on the amount of money which can be ooure into a club by a benefactor. However, restrict this and it just sets a fix in favour of manure, who can claim that depite their debt they 'live' off what the club generates, one of the few clubs that can. As we know, that would suit the Football Authorities just fine.
Bottom line is this, football was more entertaining before the Premiership was created. As far as being an entertainment spectacle, football has gone from being richer in football, poorer in money - to richer in money, but poorer in football

Walsall....Good guess! If you're a supporter support! If you can't support the club find another one!
leedsmadness,so you agree with me about kids prices?
So why the rant?
Eric and your onions,
Bates actually owes creditors millions of quids once Leeds get back into premier league, that's why Bates doesn't want to get promoted.
Be satisfied with Championship football for a couple of years yet.
Leedslover, are you really saying Bates does not want the £90 million on offer for promotion?
LL.... Bates doesn't want LUFC promoted ???? You've forgot to take your medication again!

I'll rephrase my question specially for you,
Can someone tell us who it was that turned our club from owing MILLIONS into a club that does not owe MILLIONS?

I understand that if we gain promotion to the PL the financial benefits will outweigh any deficit we may have. I therefore do not agree with your point that KB doesn't want LUFC to progress upwards. You are entitled to your opinion.
Walsall...I'll say this one more time. The company belongs to Pappa! He bought it just like you or I could have done. But we didn't and he did so whatever he does with it is his choice. We are supporters and we either support or don't which is our choice!
What you and your ilk do is as silly as standing outside AZDA headquarters and barracking the chairman because you do your big shop with them and he spends the companys profits in a way in which you don't approve.
