I have no idea as to form or quality of Champo teams, makes it very difficult to guess. 3 or 4 games you can have a stab in the dark, but half of the games....

In that case let's have some Irish, Chinese, Greek, Russian, Norwegian games to predict etc coz I'm pretty certain most folk on here pay as much attention to those games as they do the Championship.

Seems like you scored more points with your Championship predictions than the Premier League ones, Jukebox.

In reply to some comments re use of Prem/Champ games.

I estimate that 40% of players of this game support Championship teams. Over the whole season Premier teams will feature in more matches due to European comps in mid week.

In devising the game I extended number of games from the usual weekend sets of 13 to 15 for added interest. This would obviously involve Championship matches but where possible normally involving recent Premier teams.
I also wanted to just use Saturday/Sunday games to make the RESULTS thread "constant" on Monday morning and not to extend my workload to 3 days on scoring and meeting the Monday results thread deadline.

Midweek "sets" will have their results on a constant Friday morning. Everyone will be clear about the timing of predictions and results.

I have also changed the timing of predictions to one specific deadline to stop me having to collect odd one or two predictions at times over many days. This makes it fairer for all concerned.

Just the amount of Championship games as it's not a leagye I have any interest in or follow, and it's a league where results are often all over the place. I know predicting obviously has an element of luck but the Championship seems to rely more on luck than anything else.

Meh, there were plenty of champions league and europa games in the comp last year. I watch precisely 1 champions league game per year, and only really Europa if it's LFC playing.

Not having much of an interest or following those comps didn;t mean i couldn't look at league positions, bookies odds, previous games to try to make a prediction.

It'll be the dame for the championship this year.

Yes MFB... and you made just too many correct predictions for me last season.

I think most will enjoy the challenge of the game and with the double points feature game it should concentrate the mind.

This. I understand how much hard work is involved and have been trying to convince others not to drop out based on the change in format and predicting games.

It takes a bit of the fun away when you literally have no idea about the teams you are predicting for though.

Thanks for clarifying re: Friday/Monday matches and the update times - this makes sense

As far as the Champo games are concerned, I have done a bit of analysis of the whole of last season. People scored 35% better on the 3 Champo games than on the Prem games!!
