Mid fielders better than Pogba

Yes, we know.

However marketability, our desperation for a midfielder and Juve not needing to sell push the figure up.

Almost all of those players can play the midfield two in a 4231 better than Pogba too. Not saying that Pogba isn't a good player, he's a great midfielder. I just don't see how he would fit in our team successfully with Rooney as a #10.

For 100m I would want Pogba scoring 20-25 goals from midfield a season ala prime Lampard.

Personally I'd rather drop 100m on Verratti.

Modric
Kroos
Veratti
Rakitic
Busquets
Iniesta
Koke
Vidal
Pjanic
=====================

But look at who they play for.

For me Kross is a bit overrated. Neat and tidy but one of those players who constantly chooses the same option. We have enough of those midfielders

My assumption is we'll play Pogba ahead of two midfielders in the big games.

Otherwise we may as well buy any of the more traditional cm's mentioned.

He chooses the right option, not the safe one. He can play some magical passes too.

Pogba is the other end of the spectrum, a lot of the stuff he tries doesn't come off. He really needs to improve his decision making, he can't be afforded the time of the ball he gets at Juve (this was shown for France).

As you say, we don't have many players who try the impossible, but you can't have too many either.

I wonder, if we were about to spend £100m on Rakitic, would you be making a similar article with Pogba in the top 10?

The sickening lump sum of cash is really skewing people's judgements.

Pogba would not look in anyway out of place on that list and is at least equal to many of them, but with youth and potential on his side.

We will see who gets dropped in the big games out of Rooney and Ibra then (it should obviously be Rooney).

Someone needs to rescue Koke from Leti and Simeone before he fully turns into the Spanish Park Ji-Sung.

There's still potential there.

I'm with JSPC 100percent on this.

It's a classic thing for us Brits to do, write off a player who underwhelmed in a few matches they've seen them play in.

People did it with Zlatan and it only took a WC performance against England in a feiendly to change a lot of people's opinion.

I guarantee if he doesn't sign for us but turns up against any prem side for Juve in the CL, all these morons will be lauding him as the greatest ever and lamrnting Ed, Utd, Mourinho etc for not signing him.

Well the Euros make him better than Iniesta so you may have a point.

You'd think they would have at least seen him in the games against City though? I thought Pogba was great in both matches.

Pogba isn't a similar player to many of those in the list. He's more the kind of player who makes a difference once in a while than the sort who controls the game for 90 minutes. More Gerard than Scholes. As long as he were used appropriately, he could be a potent weapon for us. Obviously he won't be a better deep-lying playmaker than Modric. But let's hope Mourinho isn't stupid.

People keep mentioning Kroos. If he is THAT good why would Madrid sell him for less than Pogba?

Agreed.

Gerrards best seasons were ahead of Alonso and Mascherano. Pogba would need the same help in CM.
