BTG - I am actually old enough to remember when word of John's untimely death filtered through the media of the day. I was 7 years old and had not attended an actual match. My Dad, God rest his soul, was devastated
Fantastic OP mate, take 5
you missed out the part about the vaginas

Thought I knew quite a bit about football but never heard about this before.
The reason that talent was not fully realised, on this date 52 years ago at the age of 27 John White was killed by lightning whilst out playing a round of golf. His loss to Spurs was devastating

That's coz he didn't make a cvnt of it
There is a wealth of information on Google but I would recommend the book by his son:

I would also recommend listening to the podcasts by Graham Hunter, not a bad interview amongst the many he has done so far.

I'm sure |I remember Us playing Spurs a couple of times in the '60's*, pre-season friendlies?
Can anyone confirm?

We played them in the 1962 in the Cup Winners Cup, one of the original Battle of Britain matches. They destroyed us over the two legs with White being the stand out in the first match, I missed that out in the OP as it hurt to much
