They've clearly got plenty of cash to splash!

Wanda are owned by the richest man in China. He is the 17th richest man on the planet. They are a ridiculously wealthy company.

However....

This is from a very reliable ITK

The takeover is 99.9 percent done unless the Wanda group are somehow attached to the party which the deal is close with them they are to late the deal is all but done. They are very wealthy however

Thanks 38 - are you saying the deal is done and if Wanda are interested they are too late?

Baggie38 - Yes it's extremely close I've been informed

Time will tell I guess.

The div that wrote that article you posted, Cox, tweeted this about 20 mins after...

@SilvesterLuke - Paul Stuart - He's in talks with several interested parties. Can't see a deal being struck this month, but you never know.

I'd take what he says with a pinch of salt.

The Brum Mail are clueless since the Lepkowski days.

I'm taking all rumours with a good pinch of salt JH. However, Wanda's Tweet is either revealing or mischievous. Only time will tell I guess.

Tbh that tweet makes it sound like it won't be Wang Jianlin. If he was the frontrunner I'm sure they and Albion would be more secretive about it, not leaking their future business acquisitions on twitter... The tweet sounds like he would be interested in buying us but there are obstacles to overcome...probably in this case another buyer judging by the ITKer that JH posted.

As long as they are rich, I don't care.

Agreed.

JP has been immense for Albion...but we've hit the glass ceiling.

We need investment in order to push on.

That statement makes no sense whatsoever.

JH, do you understand what glass ceilings are?

I sure do. However, we're made of soft cushion at the minute, unable to break through.

Investment, would give us that edge that could break us through that ceiling.

Not overly hard to understand is it?

The deal is 99% done and unless Wanda are attached to the buyers party somehow, it's unlikely to be them.

How's it going baggies, do you have wealthy owners on the horizon ?

posted on 25/7/16

Nothing official at the moment but it's widely accepted that the club are in negotiations with at least one party.

Strong rumours that it's Wang Jianlin but who knows.

posted on 25/7/16

We do need investment but we need the right sort of investment. JP needs to seek assurances that extra funds will be made available for transfers and wages. There's absolutely no point in selling to somebody who's not will to throw a bit of money at the club.

Unfortunately the tweet is not regarding us.

Apparently something to do wih Paramount Pictures

It's not impossible that Dalian Wanda are ultimately behind the Villa takeover, unofficially, and will also be behind the Baggies take over too. Unofficially.

But not the Wolves takeover.

It might be something to do with the Chinese government (maybe since back in 2005) wanting to invest in the Premier League.

Things could have got held up by the 2007/8 recession and fall out from that. And the Chinese government may have been in talks since about 2012 with various companies to buy into Midlands football.

If any of that was the case, maybe they picked Birmingham way back as, with three or four clubs available to buy, it had untapped potential. And that could be why no other serious owners have been coming into the midlands.

All that is the kind of thing that might have happened. And I just got it from looking at my tea leaves!! Mind you it is Chinese tea...

Expect an anouncement by JP to say that any takeover has been put on hold.
Probably next week so it ensures we start the season with just one new signing, Berahino still here and no time to bring in anyone else...

Hope you're wrong Heis but I can see it happening!

I reckon there'll be a couple of panic buys late August and then a long hard season of all out defending!

If Jeremy was putting things on-hold then he would have already done it, so, yep, reckon we will be sold soon.
