This would normally concern me however, we do have a settled squad and its not like they will be playing with each other the first time.

The only worry is fitness levels, which I'm pretty sure Poch will have covered.

It's a concern because there behind on pochs fitness programme but the risk is always there when tournaments are on.

Be interesting to see if Kane and alli are looking ok both suffered with burnout massively they need more time but how do you give them more time? They are so important to us.

Well, Kane has managed to get his mrs up the duff so i am confident he is no longer burnout and he's ready for the new season

Passing on so few chromosomes can't take that much effort though to be fair.

The way Kane was shooting at the Euros, he can count himself lucky he scored a direct hit with the missus.

I agree with your post mate, it is a worry that our Euro players haven't been able to train and play competitive games with the rest of the squad yet.

They are back in training at Hotspur way and I'm sure Poch would have someone there pushing them through a rigorous training plan.

Its certainly not ideal preparations with the premier league starting in a couple of weeks but it will be the same with most clubs who have had players returning late to preseason.

There's just not enough time when there is an international tournament.

The players don't get chance for a decent break, which they need.

Their bodies must pick up so many knocks and niggles over the season, and they need a period of time to recover. Mentally as well, it must be draining. But when you have the Euros straight on the back of the season and then pre season starting almost straight after the Euros, when are they supposed to rest and recharge?

I'd happily not see Kane in particular for a few weeks yet. I really do think he's going to have a bit of a burnout this season.

It's sort of no-win for clubs - rush them back and they are knackered for the season, give them more time off and you start the season with a weakened squad.

To be fair the Euros for England finished nearly a month back, so they should still be up and running and ready to go for the first game of the season.

When England won the World Cup back, on the 30th July 1966, the players were all up and running for the start of the season three weeks later.

I think the players will be fresh for the start of the season, the Euro players will not need too much match time to get back on track.

Just the training regime to sharpen things up, as pointed out we have not made wholesale changes to the squad, so at best there will be minimal disruption to the team focus & rhythm of the players.

Wanyama will most likely start in Dembele's absence along side Alli & Lamela, whilst Wimmer will come in for Verthongen.

Other than that I can't see too much changing for the first few matches, with the new players getting minutes off the bench
