Which players are they?

yawn. these sort of threads are a cancer on this forum. firstly, they've been done to death, look through the pages, you'll find a dozen duplicates. secondly, city fans say their players are better, united fans say theirs are better, everybody loses the will to live, the original poster flaps over the amount of comments they're getting and another little bit of the human race dies.

which 3 players, it would be Silva i rate him. Though we already have great wingers.

Aguero, i don't think anyone in world can doubt his talents.

And last one would be Nasri.

Not saying the rest aren't good enough just that i wouldn't want any of them.

Carrick isn't better but that is no compliment to NDJ that guy is a thug, and people risk their careers when playing against him.

Carrick is a waste of squad space IMO.

My opinion has been the same now for 2 years on Carrick.

Very biased view, however, for arguments sake let's look at the most important comparison.

Ferguson > Mancini, and therfore United > City.

How is he wasting a squad place? That doesn't make any sense.

I would certainly have Kompany ahead of Rio purely down to the injury record. kompany is an extremely good reader of the game, gets on with it and keeps performing.

Tevez v Rooney is impossibly close - but Rooney could be chosen as Tevez is a distraction these days.

Barry > Carrick certainly.

Not bad all in all but would certainly have Evra over Clichy.

Clichy > evra

Serious question here, have you ever watched football at any time in your life?

posted on 5/9/11

I would say Kompany is better than Rio now, mainly because of Rio's injuries. On his day Rio can read the game better than any defender but he's injured most of the time.

I would however think it would make far more sense to compare Kompany to Vidic as they are both their team's best CB, and out of those I would choose Vidic, while I would also choose Rio over either Lescott or Toure.

Also I like Carrick a lot as a player, very underrated but Ferguson has clearly changed his tactics this season with an emphasis on speed and hassling which doesn't really suit Carrick's game and is more likely to be 2 out of Fletcher, Anderson, Cleverley and Park.

If Nigel De Jong is a thug, as the well informed utd fans on here are all quick to point out, perhaps someone can tell me how a tough tackling midfield player can only have one red card(2 yellows) to his name and that was in 2006?
Couldn't be that unlike the filthy keane,Robson, scholes etc, that Nigel de Jong is just a good hard but fair player could it?

posted on 5/9/11

But the big flaw in that argument is that Keane, Robson and Scholes are among the greatest footballers ever to grace this league, De Jong ain't.

Also I think most people associate De Jong being a thug based on 2 very nasty challenges (Alonso & Ben Arfa) that both got away unpunished which kind of proves the number of cards are irrelevant if such challenges are going unnoticed.

De Jong is a very accomplished DM, nothing more, a poor man's Edgar Davids I would say.

or could it be that refs used to jump on these United players & were to quick to show yellows & reds.

By the way I think NDJ is a decent player.

ive said it from when it first happened and i'll keep on saying it, i see nothing wrong with the tackle on ben arfa. Yes its hard, but its also fair, he doesnt go over the top or studs up and he takes the ball clenaly.
