Maybe, just maybe Wenger is waiting for certain clubs to make big moves so that other top strikers like Benzema & abumeyang become available.

Still a long month to go. Rather wait and get the chance to sign abumeyang than quickly sign lacazette just for the sake of it

it more likely you'll survive jumping into an active volcano then Arsenal signing Abumeyang

The way the market works is quite simple. Clubs will sell to the highest bidder if they pay enough that they think its worth selling. Add in a bit of unrest from players wanting to go to lower the price a bit and you pretty much have it. Then the buying club needs to persuade the player to join them, usually with bigger wages and/or the chance to win trophies.

Wenger thinks you shouldnt pay what the selling club will think they are worth and only offer good wages to unproven prospects or not top rate players with other proven top players being able to get more elsewhere.

We have no chance on genuinely competing in the transfer market or the league until this changes. And all the time Stan is lining his pockets with the money Arsenal dont spend on players, otherwise the transfer kitty would be at about £300m or more by now
