Who starts?

I fully expect Wijnaldum to start. Possibly for Hendo.

Think he'll play there but for the first game of the season away at arsenal, I think hendo gets the nod!

Maybe Moreno can kick on this season, a year older, more used to what is expected of him etc. More hope than expectation though.

I'd go with a similar line up Kolo, maybe Studge for Origi but that's a tough call.

Arsenal could be there for the taking if we're really at it, still no major signings and if we can start well the crowd will get anxious.

Why would Hendo get the nod? I don't think Klopp is a huge fan of Hendo.

433?

For one he's an attacking midfielder and whilst he may well be deployed in the middle in time to come, I don't think away at Arsenal is the ideal time for it.

I'd go with Hendo & Can, they know each other and they know each other's game.

I like the formation but Firmino misses out?

Pains me to say it, but I think you'll beat the drop with that side

Yeah. I get the feeling Firmino plays a bit further up the pitch than Gini? I could be wrong... For Arsenal I think bodies in midfield will get the nod

I think 4231 will be the formation.

I think origi won't be fit day 1, neither will matip.

I don't know why firmino is getting dropped by some here. I honestly think he's going to at least start the season off and we will see from there.

Wijnaldum i really don't know....

I heard that Origi has a slight injury.

Also I can't believe we are going into a knot her seaso with square pegs in round holes. Why the feck do we keep doing this????

We still have time T bone, bar left back where do you see us having players playing out of position?

That's why I put Hendo in and I can see why Gini would be good in that role.

Can get forward but can play in a midfield 3.

We've got so many options in attack now, it's great. If we can get a left back in before the start of the season then we're sorted.

For PSV he used to play deep and he has good quality on the ball.

I think Klopp realises that Can and Hendo partnership just cancels each other out. Both have energy and are decent at shielding the defence. Can is ahead of Hendo because physically he is stronger and will get about.

Passing for both can be very hit and miss which is why we need Wijanldum.

Haven't a clue!

Even if the rumours are true about us going for the Italian fullback, he's not a left back!

He's a right back that can play left back and we've already got Flanno who can do that!

Just get a left back.

I thought Matip's injury wasn't too serious and he was expected to be back for the Arsenal game? If that is the case I'd expect him to start against Barca to test his fitness.

If fit I'd expect to see:
Clyne---Lovren---Matip---Moreno

Think Moreno may be given another chance, the lads faced huge amounts of criticism and before discarding him it'd be good to see if he's taken any of it on board.

Can is a given I think. Reckon JK sees Wjinaldum with him if I'm honest.

3 behind the striker will be Mane---Firmino---Coutinho I think.

Striker I would pick Sturridge.

We've been wanting Sturridge to have a injury free pre-season and come into a season fully fit, we have that now so I can't see any reason not to start him.

Origi is exciting and he'll get his fair share of chances. But we have a fully fit striker who has scored 43 league goals in 69 games for us. IMO you don't leave that on the bench, you play him.

Agreed with all of this. Only way I wouldn't start Sturridge is if we play Lallana, with Firmino as the lonely striker which tends to work against the big teams.

I'm not convinced we'll see that happen again. I think it was necessary because we lacked movement up top due to Sturridge and Origi's injuries and Benteke being Benteke.

Even if Sturridge and Origi both fell to injuries I think Ings would offer enough movement. I'd far rather Firmino gets used to rotating positions with Cout and Mane.

Having said all that Klopp will probably start him as CF now...

He's kept Henderson as captain and tbh I think playing Can and Wijnaldum together is going to leave us very open. Not saying that won't happen but I reckon we'll see Wijnaldum competing with Coutinho and Firmino more than Henderson.

I think Moreno will be first choice unless they can get someone they KNOW is better which hasnt lpoked likely. We've been chasing a teenage full back all summer, for a large fee, who has zero top flight experience. That doesn't strike me as them trying to replace Moreno. A lot can change quickly though in footy.

I'd start Sturridge and I think he will as well although Origi is a great option and I think we'll see plenty of him.

Sooooooo considering injuries I think he'll go for

----------------- Mignolet ----------------

Clyne --- Lovren -- Klavan --- Moreno

-------- Henderson --- Can -------------

Mane ------ Firmino ------ Coutinho

----------- Sturridge -------------------

Options at CM still look light so I think we'll see Stewart and Branagan getting game time umess someone can e brough in (which wouldnt sup rise me if we move Benteke for a good fee).

Pre season has been constantly to-ing and fro-ing from city to city so it will be good once the season actually starts and the whole squad settles down completely.

Have to say I don't think Klopp is a massive admirer of Hendo and he might be pushed into being second choice this season in whatever role he chooses to play him. Attack choices seems excellent with Sturridge, Origi, Ings and even Firmino to choose from. Benteke for me is redundant and hopefully Palace come in with a solid offer.
