Out of interest, is anything happening with Grealish? Since he bossed us in the FA Cup Semi a couple years back thought he'd definitely be snapped up if you went down.
Has he committed to the Villa, or has there just not been any interest?
Got to say.. Villa look better for that spine of Gollini, Elphick and McCormack.
Still need some more in midfield and I cant see you finishing in the top 6. But if those 3 and Ayew perform.. you ought to be top 10 now.

Igor - Looks like Grealish is staying. Except for a couple of players with release clauses, we haven't got rid of anybody we want to keep; we don't need to. And Grealish is fairly committed to the club. There were rumours Spurs and one or two others were interested, but they've fizzled.
Team: Gollini, Hutton, Elphick, Baker, Cissokho, Westwood, Gardner, Bacuna, Ayew, McCormack, Gestede
Subs: Bunn, Okore, Richards, Amavi, Tshibola, Green, Grealish

I agree Paddy though we shouldn't have lost game but GK error had horrific memories of Guzan but up to then he looked good
There was promise though and not going to rant, errors will always cost you though and we make a lot.

Also you do need certain decisions and we should have had a pen and they should have been down to 10.
Welcome to the Championship.
Draw would have been fair and that's how it looked until Gollini's mistake. At least he looked pretty composed until then.
Liked the look of McCormack
Thought RDM's work on the training field is paying off; the players looked as though they knew what they were meant to do. Get in another 2 or 3 players in the right positions and we could be a good side.
No real need to panic. Wednesday will be 'there or there abouts' this season and their win was somewhat fortunate. The goal came from an individual error, Villa should have had a penalty, their centre back should have gone for two yellows and we came close several times in the second half. A point would have been a good result and we deserved at least that.
Having said that, our midfield looks weak and we need at least one, possibly two to come in, as Sanchez and Veretout are on the way out. I have to say that we really missed Idrissa Gueye and some fans inexplicably don't realise what we've lost. Ayew was once again the brightest spark and I pray that we can keep him. Gestede? Well once again, what did he do? What does he bring to the team?
Just a note on Scott Sinclair. He scored the winner for Celtic today and was praised by Brendan Rodgers for his quality, pace and desire. If ever a player was misused at Villa it was him. Sad to see him go.
