He's not everyone's cup of tea, but he's worth more than 1.25m ffs

Th United way: buy hugely overpriced, sell cheap.

There's no way back for Bastian now.

Surprised Valencia might go but its probably the time to say goodbye

Cheap deals but we'll save a chunk off our wage bill too which all adds up

Not forgetting it's the price they're offering, good old Ed'll probably insist on less.

Just dont understand the valencia one. He is a starting united rb and is pretty injury free in general. He should be at least 10 million quid

1. Have you seen him play football lately?
2. I think he's getting on now, at least 30 by my best guesstimate?

I think £7-8m is the max we'd probably get, and I rip their hands off for it. £1.25m is surely a joke though.

We bought Bastian for £6m and he's since gone on to show how past it he is, how much do you want? How many years has Tony got on his contract?

Delighted if these 2 go. I said last week only one of the Istanbul clubs would be stupid enough to pay the wage Bastian will want.

Its funny how Mourinho will trim the squad, and you wont suffer injuries and probably get 2nd yet when LVG did it, everything went belly up.

Bastian is no more past it than carrick

posted on 7/8/16

Firstly Carrick hasn't had an injury this year, secondly he doesn't have a persistent injury like Bastian, thirdly he's been given a new contract and fourthly he's proven in the PL. We don't need both and the fact Morgan has been operated in the DM role all summer gives more reason as to why Bastian isn't needed.

The manager has made a decision, stop moaning like a d-ck all the time.

Firstly Carrick was injured last season and hes become injury prone in the last few seasons.
Secondly Morgan operating all summer as a dm. He must be knackered after all those game. 😃

Fact is Bastian not getting a contract dosent prove he's past it and dosent prove hes any more past it than Carrick

And as for moaning like a d ick all the time. That's rich coming from a c hunt that spent all last season moaning like psuusy...😉

Yes get rid, £1.25m though?

Feck me

The fact both Pep and Jose are happy to get rid of him shows he's past it.

How many games of Germany's 6 did he actually start in the Euros?

More than Carrick started for England

posted on 7/8/16

What's that got to do with anything? England have been known for years for ignoring the more technical players like Carrick and Scholes. You brought up Bastian and his Euro performances, not me.

Bastian wasn't a starter for German and only started or came on for injured players or to play the last few minutes and in the one game he did start he conceded a penalty and Germany lost. He isn't a DM, he's only operated the role for 2-3 years in a time where he has had persistent knee injuries. Carrick gets niggles but not the same injuries, he's also been injury free for 9 months in which time Bastian has got 3 seperate knee injuries.

Apart from the 14/15 season Carrick has picked up just 7 injuries since joining United 10 years ago. Bastian has picked up 16 injuries in his past 4 seasons.

That's poor showing. Even Pep had a little dig at Bastian on his way to us in reference to his injuries.

That's the whole point, we all know Bastian was a world class player once but injuries have had a big effect on his career in recent years to the point of both Pep and Jose not needing him anymore. I get why LVG got him, he was cheapish and a player which great experience who understood his philosophy. Now LVG has gone Jose has no need for him.

Can't argue with that. Like I've already mentioned, his experience could have been useful but his ability to stay injury free was always going to play a huge part in Jose's decision.

Niggles FFS 😀

He missed lots of games because of these niggles that's the fackin point

As for scweinsteiger injury situation its no worse now 12 months on from the utd medical staff sanctioning his move from bayern. He's was deemed fit to be released for the euros and probably performed better than most of the utd players that featured in France.
He was fit enough to run half the length of the pitch and half volley an ozil cross into the Ukraine net and fit enough to start and finish the Euro semi-final.
Jose getting rid without giving him a chance dosent prove anything about what Bastian is capable of this season. A season in which he would have been managed carefully the way Carrick needs to be.
