So you are questioning his credentials
these players have had three years , NP has had two weeks , F the players off , lets have some new blood , get shot of the main stays of the last three years , sell anyone who they can , take the money.
well why didnt we do this earlier?
we only have 2 weeks yet, our only proper winger is camara and he is injured
...cos we have a club hierarchy that isn't accountable to anyone that knows anything about the game of football.
We had a scouting set up that was only accountable to the hierarchy that wasn't accountable to anyone who knows anything about the game.
Pearson is a 4 man midfield idealogue apart from the odd flirt with 3 at the back.
Even Craig Ramage could see that we didn't have a central midfield pairing(s) that works so unless we were or are going to bring in a central midfielder that can run, pass and tackle (they don't come cheap) this was always going to happen. I still think we need this type of player even if we reverted back to plan A (4-3-3) though.
We have two options get rid now and hire someone more pragmatic and try and save this season or calm down and accept that this is going to take time and maybe we'll have to endure Nigel Clough-esque misery before the good times might start to happen again.
With a loose unaccountable cannon like Mel though I feel we're moving closer to Fawaz than Premier.
If we are going to stick with NP then can I suggest going 4-4-1-1 with Hughes behind Martin, bring on the pace later in the game.
just like I didn't want clough to come from burton I didn't want pearson either.at this rate it will be bottom half at best
Also don't completely buy into this bottling it lark too, we haven't been good enough.
Players sadly these days are million dollar servants to their managers. Clough, SM, PC and NP were all authoritarian in their approach and now we want them to be more independent thinking on the pitch?
I wish they were, but it ain't gonna happen. Was it Shankly who said I didn't need to tell the players what to change in a game, they did it themselves?

At this rate (1/2 pt per match) we'd be rock bottom.
FFS, everyone knows we needed to change, we've had 2 league games and we need to sell everyone and sack the manager?!!
Man up.
We are manning up and doing what needs to be done.
GSE in Mel OUT

Man moves to save the season
I am Disappointed, Disillusioned, Dismayed and Distraught of Derby.
Where are the positives? Are there any? What do we need to do. I simply couldn't listen so I don't know who payed well and who played badly.
If Barnsley can get loanees like that from Liverpool, why can't we? Jordan Ibe where are you?
Pearson is finally seeing the players who can/will give their all, players who try but are poor and those who just aren't at the required standard. Unfortunately it seems that there are too many of the latter. I want to see us fitter and battle harder this season and expected us to add that bit of quality to take us over the line. The window is still open and I'm sure we will see a few in and a few out, some of the outs will divide opinion but ultimately we have to let Pearson stamp his authority on this team.
I don't think we do Tommo, his authority will ruin the good work that the previous managers have done, it takes time to create a footballing side.
NP will ruin that legacy, maybe something competitive will come out of the ruins, but if he fails we're back to where we were post Paul Jewell.
It is what it is and what is is isn't good.

What legacy? A side that plays nice football but ultimately lets the fans down....
If some of the players are sulking or cannot adapt then it is them that are the problem. Pearson has been there and done it, not many of our players have, buy into what he is trying to do or ask to leave because 3 years of being almost good enough isn't the mentality I want our club to have.
I think they are buying into what he is trying to do.
That's the problem.
Owd Wellies and his unaccountables. Which club can we copy that has "accountable" owners knowing lots of clever stuff about football and which has been successful recently? Chelsea? Man City? Leicester?
Wellies can't stand rich people and he can't stand bosses so he is always going to hate Morris and Pearson. He wants a collective think-tank on account of the many examples he can provide of how this has worked in the modern game.
There hasn't really been any "success" to build on for NP, there have been sporadic but unsustained periods of good play but without any consistent movement in a forward direction. We've had pretty much the same group of players and there has been tinkering around the edges but we have underachieved considering the resources and talent available. Like Tommo says it is time for a real change.
Owd Vidals and his middle class obedience to authority....bless.
You're right though in the cowardice of modern times, when our imaginations cannot envision a game beyond capital we are where we are.
However, GSE was accountable to financial tight fisted-ness and had they still been here I think we'd be in a far better place than we are with Mad Mel.
Mel Morris financed our Bent/Ince and Lingaard loan move which sent us and SM into a tailspin, he then brought players we didn't need on the hunch that it was lack of squad depth that was the ONLY factor holding us back, talked about attractive football 'the Derby Way', then employs Pearson. The man hasn't a fecking clue, like Fawaz. If he had a boss he would have been fired.
We shout at BJ and Keogh and Bent for not performing but let off the rich man cos he owns our club and we're too gutless to call him out on it....man up as 666 would say.
Mel might be a nice bloke, but he is a 5hit chairman, sorry for calling a spade a spade. No manner of underwater treadmills can hide the fact in my mind.
There are smarter rich people who put a structure in place (maybe it's not accountability but you put a system in place that can guide you better than the subjective whims of your own vanity)
Then there are richer people who just buy the best players which is what the modern game is in essence. Mel isn't in the latter category so we have to be smarter.
Maybe a change was needed putting a succesful Nascar driver in a Formula 3000 car probably not the best way of going about it though.
"Mel Morris financed our Bent/Ince and Lingaard loan move which sent us and SM into a tailspin"
Don't talk wet. McLaren said he needed the players. Morris didn't force them upon him. McLaren messed it up because he cannot handle a pressure situation.
So Forestieri refused to play, make of that what you will
GSE would have told him where to go, when he asked. Proper rich people them uns.
We had a team that controlled the majority of games n picked up points, occasionally flirted with the top and promotion. Better than Derby usually does in my mind. Change yes but complete change no.
I need to let go of my anger though, just not sure how to do it, we've been in worse places before with worse managers don't know why I'm so mad n can't let it go.
Is he on strike with the rest of the Derby players Tommo?
He is getting the practice in early I guess
Hope he doesn't watch the highlights tonight.
Pearson needs to either buy 4-5 players or stop this 4-4-2 nonsense
Why is it nonsense? It's nonsense that a professional footballer cannot adapt to a different formation
if we get foristerie or whatever his name is- wouldnt 4-2-3-1 be perfect with F.F behind martin?
