Agree, however as well as the missing players, the starting XI weren’t fit. In the second most we dropped off considerably, (evidenced by the distance covered stats too) and Elneny had to be taken off due to fatigue.
Credit to Liverpool who played some great stuff in the second half but yet again AFC were utterly under prepared at start of the season.
Agreed - how are the likes of Giroud, ozil and koschelny going to get match fitness?
We play you guys next week and while we are way behind on our fitness, we will still be ahead of most of arsenals key players.
It's why Arsenal get off to such a slow start every year
How much rest do they need!!!
watch some of the athletes at the Olympics, some of them compete for several trophies in a day! How can a football player not be rested enough by now!
Mo Farah runs 120 miles a week!!
Look at Michael Phelps!
Now we have the "match fit" issue....
I bet Payet plays tonight!
pampered players.....
is this what an 8mil a season manager gets you. Shocking.

Even the players who are supposed to be fit look lacklustre and we get serious injuries in pre-season. I seriously don't know what the feck goes on at the club.
How does Ramsey go all out at the Euros and first game back for Arsenal he gets injured?
It doesn't add up
Where is Ozil anyway? Most Bayern and Dortmund players played yesterday in the super cup yet this guy only came back to training.
Wenger was saying we lost because our players weren't physically prepared. Well isn't that his job to make sure they are! Other teams seem prepared.
I'm sure at least Giroud would be fine to play. He's probably our fittest player, hardly ever gets an injury. We're playing a potential close rival. Why not pick likes of Giroud and koscielny. Could rest them against a less challenging opposition.

Yet last week (after the City game) AW stated the player's were physically ready
I am not saying it is a fair comparison because times are different, but the 50 year programmes about 1966 made me think. Geoff Hurst after the World Cup final mowed his lawn the following day and went back to pre season training 3 days later and played in the first game of the season.
