I hope no one gives Paul Sturrock any abuse he came in to replace Wise and Poyet and did the job he had to do he got us out of a tough situation. Blair Sturrock is possibly the worst striker i've ever seen how is he still in league football. Wouldn't suprise me if Timlin is at the County Ground he must still have a home local and its probably a good chance to see some Town friends (Feel really sorry for Timlin, we got him to sign a new contract and then just said he was surplus to requirements)
Looking foward to the game aswell Southend have started quite well, but it would be really good to have some good form going into the away game at Crawley.

Also like Timlin, have seen him out and about ( not pubs or clubs) with his family a few times and has always had the time to stop and talk to my daughter who is nearly always in her Swindon shirt ! Wouldnt imagine Timms would have any ill feelings towards the club in general possible only Paolo!Think Blair has been coming on as a sub for them so we may or may not get to see him play Saturday. Not sure about Corr, don't even know if he is still with them this
season ?

Yes, Corr is still at Southend, think he's injured though.

There will be always be some fans, normally the drunk ones, with a tendency to boo any former player/ manager whose name they vaguely recognise, and there will always be some others, normally with longer memories, who will try to give applause if it's a player who was a good servant to the club.i tend by default to fall into the latter category, but mostly because i know any abused player will always do twice as well against us if iboo. I should think sturrock will get a reasonable reception. No-one can have any real complaints about the job he did for us (except for signing his son, but that's an occupational hazard for anyone that gives him a job as manager).

I cringe when our fans give former players stick, ala Revell Saturday. There are quite a few players that heve returned that I dislike but you just know what's going to happen when it becomes them v the fans !

Paul Sturrock did a good job for us and I was sorry to see him leave, he deserves a good reception and I hope he gets one. Blair was pretty useless but he always seemed to try, he doesn't deserve to get any stick.. I think Timlin has had a bit of a raw deal, he's been a good servant to the club in my book.

Important game...we need to keep the momentum going, especially with Creepy Crawley next week. We owe them one!

Yeah we do owe Crawley, not only did they beat us at our place it also took me hours to defrost after the game. Think Douglas had the right idea with a early hot bath ! Can't knock Blairs attitude and he did get a few goals for us coming on towards the end of games. I won't be booing any of them.

Southend fan in peace. On the injuries front Corr is still injured and has not started this season. As Harris is also injured I reckon that Blair will start. Interesting that your views of him are as mixed as the Southend fans. Looking forward to Saturday, should be a cracking game.

Roots, what's your thoughts on Blair ? to be fair he is going to be under the spotlight more than others because of who is Dad is. We are a bit up and down form wise at present but our win against Rotherham on Saturday should of given us a timely boost. Looking forward to the match, and like you said hope it's a cracker.

Notts, that's a hard question. I think he holds the ball up well and links in players, but for that to be of value to the side he needs forwards who are scoring regularly, not a commodity that we had a lot of last season. As for his goal scoring prowess, my mum has more goal poaching genes!!

However, we are short on forwards at the moment and as you say, his dad is in the chair. Regardless of the result I'll be interested in what you think of Bilel Mohsni. He can be as mad as a box of frogs but always good entertainment value.

Good luck for the rest of the season after Saturday.

With a name like Mohsni he would be at home in our squad ! We are all still getting used to pronouncing Half our players names. Ill give you another fans view, but i hope we are not discussing his goals.Hope Southend are somewhere up there come May, but not at our
expense.

You could be mate! Clock the video of Southend v Northampton on the BBC Southend page. His was the first goal.............oh, and I forgot to mention Hall's second. Don't dwell on our defence too long though, you might slip through them!

Saw the goals...point taken!

Roots, seems we have a defensive crisis for Saturday so Blair might prove everybody wrong ! Some goals you got there. Perhaps you just shoot from the half way line and miss out the strikers altogether. Hope with players missing from both sides we still get a decent game. Our you coming Saturday?

Even my wife laughed at that, she buys my season ticket every year for my birthday then moans when I want to come home early from holidays to watch a match !

posted on 9/9/11

My wife's birthday present to me was a funded trip to watch us away at Peterborough. As long as I only had 2 pints. Mind you, that's only 40 miles away.
A whole season ticket! License to go to any match, Who delivers your milk when you ain't in?

posted on 9/9/11

Always used to buy milk from the supermarket, was wondering why we now have it delivered !
