I used to think this too. Then I realised it isn't the opposition that is the commonality - it is Arsenal.

Our defence is soo poor (especially from the midfield) that we make these teams look a lot better then they actually are. That is why when they play against each other they look worse.

Unfortunately Wenger is to blame.

Fair point. But this is something I've noticed for several seasons now.

Teams don't fear us like they used to and know we will bottle it if they put enough pressure on us. But that's no reason not to put the same amount of legwork & effort in against some of our rivals, which they often don't, they just capitulate.

Liverpool make the same mistakes every season. They spend so much money but almost never on the right players.

They've signed so many mediocre players over the last few years, when instead they could have bought a few top quality players to strengthen their spine.

We have signed some good players this summer but just not that elusive left back. Get that sorted and I'll be happy.

Sure but Coutinho scored a great free kick, even though it was a debatable decision and wasn't blasting shots over the bar, missing easy chances.

Last season Firminho had the best game of his career and you scored what, 2 or 3 wonder goals in one match?

Liverpool didn't turn up against us, we just caved in. It's a fairly common theme under Wenger the last few years.

I'm just venting my underlying anger as you may have realised... This is genuinely something that has been on the back of my mind over recent years but there's no denying that our frustrating stagnation and losing more and more to weaker clubs has contributed to this notion.

Slowly losing my mind like most other Arsenal fans due to Wengerosis and attempting to mitigate the effects...

Been saying this all summer, they haven't bought the right players. Liverpool fans are kidding themselves if they think the likes of Klavan and Wijnaldum are good enough. Also, how the feck hasn't Klopp bought a left back yet

It really does feel like that quite often throughout the season...

Southampton best United last season and and season before.

We do this against all the top sides - we fly out the blocks and have a brilliant performance.

Against the lower table crap like Burnley we never turn up. It's my greatest frustration about Liverpool.

Arsenal 5 points behind equivalent fixtures while Man Utd 6 points ahead from equivalent fixtures. Onwards and upwards.

Equivalent fixtures? Bournemouth & Southampton, Liverpool & Leicester. Are you thick or do you just act that way?
