Told you all what a conman he was, but you were all too busy erecting his picture above your beds.
One good season.

Winning the league twice in one good season is a very good achievement.
So the op didn't think we'd get any points from Arsenal or Burnley away.
But he'd be happier if we lost both bu all looked okay in each, rather than win one and look good, and lose the other and look crap.
Yup, that's logical.

An interesting but ultimately flawed interpretation of what I said.
There is winning games and there is losing games..., and in either scenario there is the MANNER of how you achieved that outcome.
Based on previous seasons and the lack of serious investment in ready-made talent I did not think we would win either, partially as Klopp only has one style and clubs have figured that out already.
The MANNER of our win against Arsenal was how we steamed ahead with a win only to do what we've done so many times before and slow down/sit back and invite team to attack. In the last minutes it was hoof ball to anywhere. That was a major concern for me.
The MANNER of our defeat against Burnley was how we didn't even turn up, and against a recently promoted side. 2 mins in and they scored, we didn't respond and Klopp didn't have a Plan B. Even an expected player change at half time didn't happen. Almost begrudgingly changes were made, including the astonishing decision to bring Moreno on, a player almost guaranteed to result in Burnley scoring again because of his lack his positional discipline.
Both worrying in their own right, and for me pointers for another bleak year for Liverpool. I would never wish failure on my club but are happy to highlight the possibilities when they are almost inevitable.
Moreno brought on because we have absolutely no threat on the left hand side without him.
Milner just cuts back onto his right foot so it takes ages for us to get a cross in from the left and it was so easy to defend. At least Moreno can actually cross a ball on the move and at pace.
An interesting but ultimately flawed interpretation of what I said.

There are so many flaws with this analogy as well. This is football and they are human beings, not everyone can perform at the highest level in every game, no team does that. Your bound to have an off day and the defeat against Burnley was an off day for Liverpool. You've got to remember, this is a club who finished 8th. You are not in any European competition so what sorts of players are you expecting to sign? The top players in Europe won't drop out of Europe to move to Liverpool, even if they are a massive club. Mane was a good signing, a very good player in the PL and he's shown that consistently. Wijnaldum was Newcastle's best player last season imo, certainly their most influential. Klavan I haven't seen a lot of, but clearly Klopp has from his time in Germany as well as the games vs Augsburg last season. Matip is another good buy on a free transfer from Schalke. You've got to give these players a chance, you can't judge any team after 2 games in a season, especially not after 1 defeat and 1 poor performance.
Secondly, the manner of a win or a defeat doesn't really count for much imo. I wouldn't be too bothered how a team wins matches, as long as you win matches. Ok, I'll admit there are some expectations to how I'd like to see a team play. But at the end of the day, I'd pay money to go and see a team win games, that's why I'd be there, to see them win games. The performance at the end of the day counts for nothing, it's the points that matter. It doesn't matter how you get the points, but if you get them, that's all that matters.
Take Burnley as the obvious example. Their fans do not care one bit that they didn't play attractive football and they didn't moan about 20% possession, they are celebrating the 3 points and that's all that matters really. Ok, their expectations are completely different to Liverpool's, but it's the 3 points thast matter and the scoreline, not the performance or the stats.
Did Moreno come on and make any horrendous mistake leading to a Burnley chance or goal? No. He's still better at left back than what Milner is and Klopp clearly has faith in the fella.
I still don't see how you can judge your season after 2 games, especially only 1 defeat. I wonder what your reaction was after the Arsenal game last week when you won 4-3 away from home? Were you saying it's going to be another bleak year for Liverpool or were you celebrating saying that's a good result and we might go somewhere this season? You take it 1 game at a time, but I'd be sure a passionate Liverpool fan would be saying the latter there rather than the former, wouldn't you agree?
