Next season with Christensen, Zouma, Rüdiger and Terry as back up would obviously be very youthful and inexperienced but it would get me pretty excited. Would also allow us to Contes preferred 3-5-2 system.

I know this'll never happen but I wouldn't be surprised to see us go back in for either Nainggolan or Manolas.

Yeah, I remember that. I honestly think we would have landed him too had he not got injured. The start of this summer reminded me a lot of when Jose got all our business done early with Fabregas and co.

I was really optimistic in May/June, even with Conte away at the Euros. It's depressing to think about how everything has turned out.

Finally accepted that Matic is surplus to requirements. The sooner he leaves the better.

To be honest we've been in such a mess over the last year that not being in any European competition for a season is a blessing in disguise, allowing us to regroup and come back stronger.
