If there is a guarantee for every top player to succeed at the new club then there wouldn't be anymore DiMaria's or Torres.
Wenger will no way stomp MONSTER fees for someone like PEA who’d be perfect...well I would be happy with plan B i.e. Mustafi and Lucas Perez
We can only surmise that the “elite” were either not for sale, or (as I expect) AFC weren’t willing to throw money at the problem. The point being that “the problem” has been ongoing for years.
I can appreciate however why AFC baulked at Lacazette as he’s not a £50m forward.
I also see Ornstein has tweeted about AFC today (quoting AST figures) which seems to suggest bulk of funds were set aside either for a CF or CB.

If the budget was tight we wouldn't of blown money on another CM, I think we could make do without Xhaka this season tbh.
Xhaka could be a hugely important piece of the puzzle, but only if we get that striker and cb in.
This is what it has come to. AW has made us grateful for a journeyman CF on the cheap as the alternative is nothing.

It's probably the token striker purchase Wenger always makes.

Our midfield is an absolute meat-grinder. You just know that most of them will have clocked out by mid-November.
If anything, I'd welcome yet another midfield signing as I don't think we have enough "Flaminis" to carry us through January and February.
Bendtner is an indisputable world class player, we'd be very lucky to get him back.

Signing for Palace last I heard.

I'm still waiting for Bendtner to be allowed to train with us and then Wenger will offer him a one year deal like he usually does.
Hey can't we all for once just be a little happy that we are probably going to sign someone instead of this constant grinding negativity?

The past couple of match-threads have been unbearable.
Things should lighten up after a result against Watford.

Wenger always knows how to pull a massive victory out of the hat after a poor run of games.
We'll probably put 3 past them.
Wenger like a tiger today
Wenger really has excelled himself this time. Bought Xhaka (Not convinced by this guy) when he should have bought Kante, and now some useless C.F from Deportivo (with a terrible pedigree) when he should have bought Ibra, Higuain , Lacazette. Still no decent C.B signed. Not counting Holding. (Too early to tell)..
PLEASE Mr WENGER LEAVE THE CLUB. YOU ARE SLOWLY KILLING US.

No not particularly but I certainly wouldn't be negative about it especially in the case of Perez when most of us have never seen him play. Give the fella a chance before being critical.
I bet you'd be raving about him if he cost us 45m?
