2001 without a doubt

That team should have gone on to win the league the next season but GH's illness meant it was not to be.

Owen was at his peak (incredibile how young he peaked), Heskey was ultra confident and scoring. Fowler when fit was doing his job and Litmanen added class.

In midfield Gerrard and Danny Murphy were coming through while Garry Mc, Hamann, Berger and Smicer were established seniors.

Defence had the rock Hyppia and some decent Germans and Swiss supporting him. Jamie Carragher was still finding his feet I felt.

So much potential in that team but the team became too one dimensional once Fowler left.

1987 We were unstoppable. If we had been in europe we would of blown everyone away

better than the porto team that won it that year, or the quinta del buitre real madrid team that should have won it that year, or the bayern side that reached the final ?

I'm not so sure...

I think even without the Heysel ban, the English domination of euro club football was coming towards its end by the mid 80s

The 01-02 Arsenal team was arguably Wenger's best.

Can't imagine that Liverpool team ever finishing ahead of peak-Henry, Vieira, Campbell, Cole, Pires, Ljungberg etc.

No one in Europe would of coped with us in 87. Madrid were alright but nothing special. I think Barnes & Beardlsey would of tore them to shreds as their play was really slow compared to our pass and move the liverpool groove.

7 points between us and Arsenal though we were never really in the race unlike during Rafa and Brendan's time

When Arsenal came to Anfield that season, they had a defender sent off after half an hour yet comfortably beating us 2-1 with Pires pulling the string.

I'm sure Van Basten and Hullit would have quivering at the thought of playing Houghton and McMahon

Everton would have represented us in European Cup 87/8, guess you would have represented us in 88/9?

But you wouldn't have been in the premier competition to get a chance of testing that side against Madrid.

You know what, from 84/89 the two clubs on Merseyside would have beaten anyone in Europe

Juve mid 80s were very good. Napoli with Maradona were pretty good too.
A little team called AC Milan weren't bad in 89
