well, well, well,
if it isn't mr complainy pants on to admit he was wrong and that strachan is the man to take us to the world cup.
go on, say it.
say he is the man.
The team last night is about as close as we should have to our first choice for most games. Griff when fit should take his place up front, a new CB in place of Hanley if we can get one. Think the CMs can also be chopped and changed to suit, we have plenty of options there.
As Murnetti said on the other thread we need to build the team around Snodgrass
Good start but we NEED to keep it up and get the 3 points from Lithuania at home. Too often we feck our own chances by dropping points to the lowest ranked teams.

win all our games and we are through.

Being a Scotland fan is anything but
Fancy our chances of getting something from England now with fat Sam in charge. They'll still rightly be favourites but I'm more confident than before.
Have I just read an article by Esc praising the Scotland team?
You have grown...
Pretty much agree with all of it.
That is their heaviest home defeat in a long time.
Teams like Italy struggled to win 1-0 there
Pleased with the win and the margin of victory was unexpected. We did get a lot of luck in the game though.
Our cbs are the reason we won't qualify. Even last night they looked ropey.
Delighted for Snodgrass though - he could be an important player for us in this campaign. Burke looked good, Bannan was ok, Ritchie I thought was poor but has good delivery and put in a lovely ball for the Martin goal. Martin was awful.
The three behind the striker we're well stocked in. Burke looks a talent but raw. That said his pace and size will be a good weapon to have in the tougher games where we need an out ball.
Lacking centre halves of any real quality as well. Might be worth giving Liam Cooper a shot as he can't be any worse. What happened to Souttar btw?

It's a very pleasing start against the group minnows. But it's just the start nonetheless. The proof of the pudding will be against our main group rivals. I'll always back the team and the manager each game. last night was a good performance on the pitch and both players and the manager deserve credit. But I'll also level criticism where I think it's due
It just shows that we DO actually have the players. And that was with us missing a few. Must sort CB positions tho. That is a disaster waiting to happen against our main challengers
I must be getting auld( or just no very bright), but not a clue who any of the players were apart from maybe three. They played no bad, so......so far so good i suppose.
Really like Matt Ritchie, reminds me of Kris Commons in his prime.

I think you are being kind to Paterson Esc, I don't think he was that good last night but rather him than Hutton for sure. Is Bardsley completely off the radar?
Centre backs are a real problem as I don't see any viable alternatives at present.
It was pretty annoying Mckay didn't get any game time. He should be getting shaped into this team.
I'd have Martin and Mulgrew at CB

For the purposes of possible confusion, the banner was out of order and the wee faannies waving it deserve a shoeing.

Something to do with a flute band and a co-op carrier bag
Charlie Mulgrew sums up everything that is wrong with Scottish football.
He was a CB at youth level, but once the coaches realised he could also play the ball, he was moved to LB, after all why would you keep someone who can pass a ball at CB?
Once it became clear that he was a rubbish LB, a succession of managers tried to convert him into a DM or a LM.
An injury crisis forced us to put him at CB for a season and he was sensational. The only CB in Scottish football history to simultaneously win Players and Football Writers player of the year awards.
First opportunity we got, we git a new CB in and moved Mulgrew back to DM where is is brutal
I don't get it, Celtic have played Ambrose ahead of him for years, Scotland play Hanley ahead of him for years, yet we both try to shoehorn him in elsewhere.
Most other countries would have embraced a young ball playing CB who can hit a free kick, nit Scotland though, the concept is so alien to us that we basically kill his career in an attempt to change him into something he is not. He is definitely Scotland's best CB and has been for almost a decade, it's also our worst position, yet I can't remember him ever playing there for Scotland.
Madness.
I would absolutely have Mulgrew in ahead of Hanley.
He is a bombscare and complete liability
