I'm surprised Mustafi and Perez are not branded world class by Arsenal fans yet. Give it a couple more weeks.

I'm reliably informed Arsenal have 'blue chip' attackers.

Watched the game last night. Early days for Mustafi but not sure he's a £30m defender. Not overly quick and doesn't compensate for that by bring powerful or dominant in the air. Time will tell I guess.
What really perplexes me is why when Wenger has two strikers in Perez & Giroud available to him, he plays neither and puts Sanchez up top. Absolutely mind boggling tactics and but for Cavani's wastefulness the game could've been over by HT. As it is he caught a break.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets face it people have been saying the same thing about Kos for 5 seasons.
Its like when Spurs thought Kaboul was a top defender. Then you caught a break with alderweireld.
Or like chelsea fans thought Cahill was a top defender.
There is actually a long list of center backs who have been either been overated or classed highly inappropriately
I am not worried about Mustafi at all, great recovery speed, comfortable with the ball and has a good competitive streak. He will be a good player.
It's Arsenal's strategy when they dont have the ball which, in my opinion, is what will hold them back from being successful. There is enough quality on the pitch to win plenty of games but your contemporaries are better when not in possession. Spurs, Liverpool, United, Chelsea and City will out work Arsenal in games and have the quality to hurt them.
Not sure players like Sturridge, Firmino, Coutinho and Mane are particularly inferior either.
In fact Sturridge and Mane would suit Arsenal perfectly.

Liverpool are certainly not better than us when they dont have the ball and will never be under Klopp.Yes I know they press well but they still cant control games so concede goals.
Chelseas defence is worse than ours aswell. I am not worried about our defence, we have a top 5 center back and one of the best keepers.
Its scoring goals, thats our problem at the moment. The stats get worse every year.We barely manage 65 in the league for a season which is a joke

Both Liverpool and Arsenal's defence is exposed by the system of play. Both are attacking teams but Arsenal dont press enough/work hard enough without the ball and thus dont protect their defence enough, and while LFC do press, it does leave players upfield leaving their defence exposed
I'd say Arsenal have the better individuals but LFCs system protects their defence a bit better. But having conceded 6 and 7 goals respectively already, neither defence is particularly sound and unless they sort this out this will continue to hold them back
Liverpool have conceded the least chances against them in the league so far so I wouldn't say it's a system error per se.
Alot of our goals conceded are individual mistakes

Indeed, so far so go. Your high press is working well
. You certainly put a very below par Spurs under loads of pressure. We lacked quality in the CM that day and it showed, we struggled to beat your press and kept coughing the ball up. I sense with Dembele on the pitch the contest ight have been more even because Dier & Wanyama are never going to be able to feed the attacking players if under such pressure.
Will be interesting to see how you fair against the other top teams, and whether the tactics evolve as the season grinds on.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The whole squad was at fault for that goal tbf.
It's just going to be one of those funny YouTube goals.
Every one thought he was a "number 10" last night.
We had Sanchez, Iwobi, Cazorla and Ozil constantly calling for the ball, making a pass and then slowing down for a stroll once the job was done.
No overlapping runs, no decoy runs, no movement, and very easy to mark.
Good thing The Ox was there or we'd have been overrun in the first half.
I think we will be okay in the long term. It takes time for those "automatisms" to come together. IMO the big problem in the side is Chamberlain. I'd have been much more comfortable with either Gnabry or Campbell starting this season. But if you look at the rest we're as good as we can be without the fabled world class striker.
Within a month we'll be very strong. Which begs the question, of course, why didn't we get in Perez earlier.

you are contradicting yourself. The forward press by liverpool doesnt make them better than us defensively. They havent been better than us defensively for the best part of 15 years and it wont change this season.
