If I had it my way 1 out the club.....he's Kak IMO how much did we spend on him £2-3 mill, deffo not worth it......incidently skh I thought your user name might have been one of my Sikh bros....thought you left the 'I' out....but welcome back mr Kelly...
Chris Wood isn't going to get you promoted, but he's the best we've got and we know he is a confidence player.
Fans getting on his back wont do anything but damage our chances, it's way overboard the way some people carry on at him during games.

Thanks Buddy- I am Frustrated by Wood he has easy bread and butter stuff which he constantly misses and the more instinctive stuff he buries
SKH- Smiling Kellys Heroes- AKA Kelly Heroes-
Think It will work out for him eve if we use as an impact sub like yesterday
Gelderd that £2 mill or whatever he cost could've been best spent elsewhere, if he started roughing up a few defenders instead of being a pansy & started putting the good chances away then he might do alright...
Wood is frustrating, but he's a definite scape goat for the whole team's failures. Look at the Huddersfield game - everyone apart from defence was awful. Midfield created nothing. Yet you look at twitter opinions, or match ratings, everyone was slating Chris Wood but saying Antonsson played well. Antonsson was just as anonymous in that game as Wood, in fact more so because Wood at least got on the end of two chances.
The problem this season is the same as last season - we don't create enough chances. Not much he can do if the ball if launched in his general direction, same goes as any other striker.
You can bet in this age of social media that Wood will be aware of that. Let us hope like last night he shows some character. He'll need it.
Wood - 14
Antonsson - 9
Sacko - 4
Why we won't go up or do anything. We don't score half what we should be. Hope they score more than I predicted.
Wood will score goals if he team plays to his strength. He is a danger in the penalty area. Won't score goals if he's having to deal with lumped up balls with his back to goal.
Harj,
It's not his fault we paid 2/3m for him though, he doesn't deserve the abuse he gets when part of the reason he doesn't play well is because we don't create a thing.
Granted he misses a few great chances, and he can't handle long balls lumped up to him constantly, but he proved last night he can do it and he's proved if you get balls in the box he can score.
I think his main fault is that he's a confidence player, and when we he gets dogs abuse for minimal things it destroys him.
It's a strange one, if players play awful they deserve letting know, but Wood, as did Wootton last season, seems to be the fall guy every time.
Someone his size should be battering defenders and giving them a torrid time, not keen on his apparent softness. He can rip this league up when hes in the mood
Anyone fancy Roofe to reach double figures? Or will he end up a bit part player this season and take time to bed in?
Roofe has to improve massively, you can't be paying £3m and taking a year to bed in, he's not a young kid
And am not a massive fan of wood, but on form he's vital and our most vital player, got to start every time
I recently said Wood should be benched so that he knew he wasn't an automatic choice and has to work to get in to the team. Strange how he scored when brought on from the bench (although the goal looked to be a bit of a fluke and just bounced off his stationary leg??)!
Wood is one of a long line of strikers that have disappointed over the years. Unfortunately there isn't any real depth to our squad across most areas.
I'm really disappointed in Monk, expected more from him. We lack bite and we're generally ineffective upfront. I'd rather we played Roofe and Antonsson than Wood but as Wakey often points out, what do I know?
whatever he scores he should have double.
Chris the hero- Led the line well today
