I like mocking Everton as much as the next person, but didn’t they qualify for the Champions League in 2005/06 and get knocked out losing 4-2 on aggregate to Villareal. They therefore have both qualified and scored more Champions League goals than Ricki Lambert.

We may see Arouna reappear now Everton have dented Liverpool’s title hopes.

Well it was a qualifier for the group stages based on seeding. They still count as Champions League goals.

Well that’s a ridiculous comparison as they aren’t the same competition.

What you are saying is the equivalent of saying all the goals in the prelimery rounds of the FA Cup don’t count as FA Cup goals; which also wouldn’t be true. The Champions League starts with qualifying rounds as part of the competition which teams will be part of depending on their seeding. They have to qualify to get to that stage by performance in domestic leagues. Any games and goals in the qualifying rounds count as part of the Champions League competition, not some separate competition.

I will leave this here though as it is clear you have very little understanding of how the competitions work.
