Gibson - how good?

as an ireland fan, he has potential. Its very hard to judge him as he hasn't had a decent run in the united team but anytime he's played for us he's looked decent. good passer, has a good shot, not great at tackling or tracking back......like a young scholes

If he cant get a game ahead of a midfield of Park, Carrick, Anderson and Fletcher then he must be truly average....!

He has the potential to be better than Messi

Gibson is the Irish Xavi.

Gibson does not always look decent by any stretch. Infact majority of the time he looks plain awful. Had two decent games this year against crawley and shalcke.

Apart from that he is slow, overweight, unfit (usually tires by about the 30th minitue), scared to tackle despite being bigger than most players, cant head a ball for toffee despite being over 6 foot. Takes to many shots that end up in the stand or dont beat the last man.

This transfer cant come around soon enough, the fact sunderland are paying for him is daylight robbery. I think its absoulutley brilliant we are getting shot of him.

I hope he gets regular games, just hope its anywhere but utd.

Oh and his passing is by and large medicore. Only two good passes off the top of my hat and those were against crawley and shacke aswell.

His movement and mobility is as stiff as a plank of hard wood

im sure the people on here know better than ferguson. The lad has been given matches here and there and it would be difficult to gather any form with those oppurtunities but what do you expect at man utd. Oppurtunities are few and far between. He came in for a terrible amount of abuse from his own fans and suffered quite a bit from NI fans as well. I hope he does brilliantly if the move goes through.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the sheep like bleatings of fans who simply echo the fatuous and derogatory witterings of the ignorant boo-boys who expect every player in a United shirt to be an instant superstar.

Gibson's development has been a little slow (but so was Ian Wright's, and he did quite well eventually!), but this season he has definitely shown better form - SAF hasn't kept him this long and given him games because he is rubbish - but once the chattering masses have got an idea into their heads, the novelty of appearing to possess a soupçon of critical thought pleases their infantile minds so much that they refuse to let go of that thought, despite the lack of validity.
Is not a great tackler for his size, but can make some great passes - and United have NEVER lost a league game that he has played in!

The only people who rate him are ireland fans. But they are use to garbage players I suppose.

Bye bye gibson, dont let the door hit you on the way out.

The previous comment is a great example of the ignorant and immature fans spouting verbal diarrhoea with nothing to substantiate their puerile ravings.
It's not big and it's not clever.
Ignorance is bliss, and it seems from the stupid remark about Ireland that he is not aware of the result of their last match.
No surprise there really...
Of course if you thinks such fools are better judges than SAfF, knock yourself out...

Whoopdy doo. They beat an ageing and rather poor italy team.

Well done to the england B team.

Not that really matters a hoot seeing as most of irelands player are infact poor.

As for gibson, fergie rates him so highly, he is selling him

I for one am delighted fatty is on his way, bout bloody time and all.

Hold your noise lucifer.

Oh and as for lucifers nonsense. Well he seems to think that because Antonio valencia can set up less scoring chances than jordan henderson or kevin davies he is a top class player. Wouldnt take too much notice of him if I were you

SAF hasn't sold Gibson, in case that small but crucial fact had escaped you. As he has played for United in the league, Cups and Europe for the past 3 seasons it is clear that SAF rates him.

Had you any footballing knowledge you would know that Italy managed to become World Champions with an "ageing squad".
Given that Valencia spent most of the season on crutches, it is hardly surprising. In the prior season he created over 90 chances for United.

"because Antonio valencia can set up less scoring chances than jordan henderson or kevin davies he is a top class player"

And I notice those stats you produced show that Nani has created fewer (note that is "fewer", NOT "less" chances than Henderson. Does that mean you finally managed to extract your tongue from Nani's backside?
Your arguments may impress your mates on the school playground, but they cut no ice with sensible adults, sonny...

"Wouldnt take too much notice of him if I were you "

Yes, it seems evident that you take little notice of anything sensible, preferring to indulge in your foolish and puerile fantasies.
Had you "taken notice" of your teachers you may have garnered a modicum of understanding... and you might even be able to use correct English for your bizarre ramblings.

=======================================
It was 83.

And as I say, henderson and davies set up more than that. Neither of those are that good either.

By the way, how did valencia get on against barca? Oh yeah thats right, got completely shown up for having absoulutley no techniwue and resorted to kicking people all over the shop.

Worst player on the pitch by an absoulute mile.

Class player alright.
