Depends if you want to stay loyal to Sony, as by all accounts the Scorpio will be the better machine.
Well at the moment the only machine you can buy is the Pro, the scorpio is a paper machine, which I'm sure was only announced because MS got wind of the Pro.
The advantage of the Pro is if you have a 4k TV and are looking into buying PSVR, the Pro offers a decent enough upgrade, at a good price, plus PS4 games should see a nice boost too.
The Scorpio, is out only on paper, there is no date or price and is more a next gen machine, the only problem with waiting for the Scorpio, is I'm sure PS5 will not be far behind, so you might find yourself asking the same question about scorpio and PS5.
I'm looking at the Pro, quite simply because of PSVR, if it improves the VR experience enough, I might bite.
Of course you could build a scorpio now, as all the xbox games will be available on PC anyway.
Of course another thing worth considering is PSVR.
As with all games machines - wait and see what games come out for it. No good having the latest ultra-console if there's only PS2 remakes to play.
Scorpio for me and loads of people I've spoken to
I'm waiting for the Scorpio, pro isn't specced enough for me so Scorpio next year and then ps5 a year or two after when it comes out if it's any good.
Depends how interested you are in VR really and if you're an early adopter.
Basically if you already have a PS4, there's not much point getting the Pro. Wait a year and see what Scorpio has to offer, it's a little ambiguous but it could be a game changer.
There doesn't seem to be a massive need to upgrade though, consoles just appear as if they are turning into PC upgrades every few years.
I think you're right Jordan, although If you are looking to get into this gen or have a 4K TV, the Pro has something to offer.
The Scorpio will basically be a PC, what has always will set the Playstation apart is great first party support and exclusives, and now maybe VR too.
Buy Scorpio based on no games and nothing real or even a price.........
Better question is Xbone S Vs Pro.
Unless we see some amazing reviews in November, there prob isn't much cause to get a Pro if you already have a 4.
Do you actually like any of the MS exclusives? If not don't bother with either a One or a Scorpio. Doesn't matter how great the specs are if you don't like the games it's not gonna help.
Added to this MS are currently saying (imo they need to change this) no one will be left behind, meaning if the game is on Scorpio it will be on the One which total nullifies the point of the Scorpio as you won't be able to use the horse power for anything more than making it look prettier, and if this is the case I can guarantee now it will look the same as the Pro version for all 3rd party software.
I think I'll wait for the Scorpio

What will the Scorpio look like on a 1080p tv though?
Im not fussed by either at the moment. Going to stick with my PS4 at least until i upgrade to a 4k TV which will be a while yet
More in depth info of what the Pro has to offer.
