We miss Huth in defence, Musa, Schlupp and Gray are impact players, the midfield is better with Amartey than King, we struggle with 10 men. That's about it for my thoughts.
I would take that result with a pinch of salt fellas, at 2-2 Musa should've really made it 3-2. That goes in and you win the game for sure.
My thoughts are the same after the game as they were before it. We have a squad deep enough in certain areas, but not in others. We need another CM, CB and RB ideally. However the gap to a team Chelsea is not as big at it once was.
1st team picks itself at the moment and I don't see that changing unless someone gets injured. There is possibly only Mendy who will threaten the first eleven in the short term.

Plus King's unbelievable miss, can't believe he headed that over
We learned that take away Chelsea and Leicester's key centre backs and they become defensively hopeless.
Luiz was atrocious and a liabity causing Chelsea a whole host of problems, and I'm sad to say it, but Wasi was worse. I felt he could cover Huth if we needed him to but last night made me feel that BS was right and we desperately need to strengthen there.
Still love Wasi though and sounds like he'd be good on the coaching staff.
As above, King, Ulloa and Okazaki definitely showed why they are part of the first team squad.
But once again, despite some lovely interplay at times, Gray, Schlupp and Musa showed why they still have a lot to learn before they are challenging people like Mahrez and Albrighton for a starting spot.
It's decision making mainly for for Gray and Musa so hopefully they can learn that.
Last night was a lesson for Chilwell too. Get your head down and learn from fuchs son. Still hoping he develops quickly. He looks like he can but last night showed he still has a lot to learn.
So in conclusion, sadly last night showed us that the first team is the first team still. Nobody did enough to change that, but I was good game time for the fringe players to get to know the team other and our system a bit better.
Onwards.
I'm really surprised that Benalouane can't get a look in, he's looked alright when he's played and has to be better than Wasi now. It's an odd one.
"We learned that take away Chelsea and Leicester's key centre backs and they become defensively hopeless. "
Haha, they were Chelsea's key centre backs.
I think we learnt an awful lot but as CoE says, where was Benaloune and also Hernandez, both of who surely could have been given a run out?
Schlupp can't play on the right side and it shouldn't be attempted again.
Wasi as already said.
Chilwell as already said.
Gray looks promising.
Oki can do the job when given a chance even if every goal he scores is comical.
Musa looks promising.
Ulloa looks similar to Slimani but needs to get himself in the box more to get the chances and not go ranging off looking for the ball.
In total though we really should have won it, if Morgan hadn't of lost Cahill for their first it's a different game, Musa should have scored but great save and King, well??
I actually thought it was positive with a lot learned but can't understand why fringe players weren't either played at all or given more time on the pitch instead of Morgan, Drinky and Vardy with Utd. on Saturday.
Btw. Early morning reports suggest Mourinho going after Drinkwater in the winter transfer window,
KTF Danny!!

The way you play him is a waste, his stats are nowhere near as good now that he's only allowed to play centrally, he had his worst game in England last week and he would have made no difference to your team yesterday.?

I guess we also learnt Chelsea are a struggling Club, much like Man Utd they have such a long way to go to become a top 4 Club again.
Put your best side out if you really, really want to win.
I haven't just learnt that Wasi is suspect and something of a liability. I saw that last season.
I can't recall exactly the last time City were 2-0 up and lost 4-2. The only occasion flickering in my mind is at the Boleyn Ground-December 1967.

I omitted that old delivery line:
"Unless you, of course, know better"
one thing i am dissapointed with is the mental concentration on the pitch. When teams are 2 nil up and the announcer says the 4th official has given 1 minute of added time at the end of a game the team that is leading see the game out by keeping possession like camping by the corner flag etc .Last night in the first half 1minute was added and Musa gave aback heel pass to okazaki well short and they got a corner out of it then 2-1 . Had we held on it would have been a massive confidence boost. Chelsea on the other hand were given one.
Without the league cup, how can we give the likes of Chillwell and Gray the game time they need to develop?
We can't really risk them in the league or Europe because mistakes could be costly, so are we best to loan them out for a month or two?
The only problem with that is who to. I'm not sure that they would really learn anything new in the Championship other than the physicality aspect.
Also I can't imagine Gray would be keen on this having arrived from Birmingham.
Ideally a short term loan to a lower end PL team would be better as they'd get experience of the PL without their mistakes costing us points. They would then come back to us and be better able to contribute.
Mercenary thoughts I accept, but I'm struggling to see how they can develop otherwise.
