I think pep will have his targets drawn up for the full backs next summer.
Ye, I agree, but I don't think its a good idea to change all of them in one go. Bring in a rb and lb and have sagna and kolorov competing with them.
I agree OP, Otamendi is looking like the player that saw him voted as La Liga's best defender two season''s ago, to the point where Vinny's absence is barely noticeable now. Personally I think the calmness of John Stones is rubbing off on the Argentine.
Sagna was poor yesterday, perhaps he's not quite up to speed yet having been out but he was very much a weak link
Otamendi is looking impressive now, totally different to last season where at times he was a total liability.
I can't get used to this passing around between Bravo and the fullbacks/centrebacks at all times, sometimes I'm thinking just kick it into touch Joe Hart style.
It makes me nervous at times.
Right back is more of a worry, Kolorov and Clichy are fine on the left side. Zabaleta, I'd quite like it if we could keep him a couple more seasons and then offer him a coaching role, would be good to try and keep him in the club.
Ye but he could always come back after a couple of seasons for a midtable team. I wouldn't give him a new contract based on sentiment.
Clichy has shown some of his best form since the Mancini days, but seems to be pretty unfancied by Pep.
Would defo want to keep Zab on in a coaching role. Season or two at NYC?
Its hard to say where he will end up, don't think it will be at city. Just checked and fernandinho contract does run out in the summer aswel. I can't see why he hasn't of a new one.
NYC is a good shout for Zabaleta.
Fernandinho, I'm pretty sure we're talking to him now about extending. We need to, definitely.
Hope they are talking with him. He is the best cm in the league for me and is showing no sign of age.
