Why do they have to name the trophy after Steve Davis? annoying that he's been getting more recognition then Stephen Hendry!
It looks like the Scottish Open will be named after Stephen Hendy that's some consultation at least.
Suppose it's out of courtesy? Respect? Don't know. Paul Hunter has a trophy names after him but obviously the circumstances there are different.
English: Steve Davis
Scottish: Stephen Hendry
Irish: Alex Higgins
Welsh: Ray Reardon
Confirmed by World Snooker the names of the four Home Nations trophies.
Anybody know which TV channel is televising these?
I think Eurosport wil be showing all of them. Welsh Open which will be in February will also be on BBC Wales.
Eurosport are showing all four of this series throughout the season. Hope BBC Wales still have their tournament in February, I'm sure they will. Next one on the BBC will be the UK in December.
Champions of Champions should also be on ITV4 in November (assuming that's still going ahead) as nothing appears on the BBC Snooker calendar. I hope it does happen because I purchased tickets for it 6 months ago lol.
7-12 November for the Champion of Champions. Still in Coventry. And, yep, still on ITV4.
Just watched Ronnie o'sullivan beat Neil Robertson 6-0 in the semi finals of the European open, can he win his 29th ranking title against Trump tomorrow
When did it start? Was it 7pm our time or Romanian time? Must have been European time...
It started 5pm UK time and didn't last long at all. Robertson bottled it! Judd will win tommorow 9-5 I reckon.
Judd and Ronnie both playing on Tuesday in the English Open. Great that the calendar is so full but they don't get much time to travel and prepare do they?
Ronnie 3-1 up, Judd could easily have been 4-0 up but Ronnie doing what all champions and the best do - punishing every single mistake
10 years since Paul Hunter died today
Paul Hunter
8-8 we knew it was going all the way, come on ronnie! Trump has been playing better all day though, Ron just grinding it out
Trump wins 9-8
Fair play to him, deserved it was by far the best player all day, Ronnie made him pay for some mistakes but Trump quite easily could of won 9-3 / 9-4, Ronnie didn't play anywhere near as good as he has all week.
Still positives for both, good for Trump to win a tight one over Ronnie and the tournament and good for Ronnie to get some much needed more gametime before the big ones
Wow, 10 years since Paul Hunter, seems like 5 maximum, untouchable against Robertson, Shame Ron didn't bring his a game today, like Judd a lot, would love him to be World champion ( if Ronnie doesn't win) anyone but Selby...
Get in awesome win from Judd, don't think anyone can argue he didn't deserve to win that. 9-8 flattered Ronnie, Judd showed good character to win the last 3 frames. I can't believe it's been 10 years since Paul Hunter died
Now Judd can you be consistent and win a few more major honours this season preferably the world Championship.
That final was a great watch even though Ronnie was slightly off his best, no doubt Paul Hunter was looking down and admiring two players made of a similar ilk to himself.
Selby is a great player but give me Trump and O`Sullivan wo watch anyday.
Selby is boooo. I would love it if he didn't win any more titles this season, can someone hurry up and knock him off the top spot!
