No Stearman, see.
Looks like ALF got between them both for the first goal. Poor communication and Iorfa didn't get across to cover the man and attack the danger, but also poor positioning from Batth, who should have been in place to clear it at the front post.
The second one is abysmal from both of them again. Both go to sleep, Iorfa allows the striker to get away from him and run in behind Batth. Batth gets caught on his heels and allows the ball to drop. Pace is supposed to be Iorfa's biggest asset and considering it was a 2 on 1 situation favouring the defenders, you would have thought he would have used it to follow the man and try to crowd him out or get in to cover behind the keeper rather than ambling along two yards behind play.
Pathetic defending for sure, but had we been 5 or 6 up, that late goal wouldn't have been so costly. With "£13 mill" players like Cav in the team and flair players like Tex and Costa, we should be dicking teams like Wigan if we are serious promotion contenders.
As we have got used to over the last year or so we are so ineffective when we send out a team without a centre forward. Without Bodvarsson at the moment we are half a team and we need Dicko back, just as we did all through last season. The fact Gladon wasn't selected despite us not having another centre forward available is a real vote of no confidence in him.
Agree the defending for the goals was poor so the problem was not just down to not having Bod. And I do think with the attacking midfield players we have we should be playing more positively generally. We have had the minority of possession in most and maybe all games this season and while that isn't the most important stat it reflects that we are a team that sits back and relies on breaks. And against a poor team like Wigan giving them more of the ball builds their confidence and we should be good enough to dictate games like this. But as I said not having a centre forward doesn't help in that
Agree with some of that DJ. Bod was a big miss and we definitely look a better team with him in it. But we have to find different ways to beat teams, especially "smaller" teams like Wigan and Burton.
Surely with the players we have, we have enough "firepower" without Bod to win games!
Defenders fear pace and with Costa, Tex and Cav, we have pace in our side.
As for Gladon, if Zenga rates him so poorly after a month or so, why did we buy him? Most fans were calling for an additional striker while the transfer window was open. Most called for Rhodes or Bamford or Wilson or Martin so wonder what the thinking was for us to get Gladon!
Can somebody explain to me why Walt took two of our fastest players off together with nearly half an hour to go when it seemed to me they were the players who were providing most of the threats and chances ?
The defending, well SHOCKER, schoolboy, pi$$ poor.
Wolves should be allowed to forfeit all future mid week games and give their opponents the 3 points. At least then all the team would be rested for weekend games.
Honestly, when was the last time we played well and/or won a mid week game?

After that showing, one of Batth or Iorfa should be dropped for the next game, I would drop both as they were both equally to blame for both goals, but you probably only want to make the one change at centre back for continuity.
The whole idea of having a squad is that players that underperform can be dropped and others are raring to prove themselves as an able replacement. Dropping one after a poor showing sends a message and hopefully means we will have 3 to 4 centre backs who will push each other for places.
JDB is probably our most important player at the moment. Without a striker who can hold up the ball and run the channels, we become a distinctly average team.
We are a distinctly average team.

Just don't buy that at all.
I think DJ makes a valid point regarding how we play, we have technically gifted players now who are clearly strong on the ball but set up to play on the counter giving the opposition more time with the ball instead.
We should dominate games with some of the players we now have, especially against poorer sides.
As for gladon, presumably a thelwell signing, but then again bod likely was as well.

Sad news indeed Bute, this bloke was a Wolf through and through. Had one very good season when he won promotion back to the top flight, last away game spoilt by those skin headed faks from Chelsea and one poor season although it did have a couple of highlights with away victories at Liverpool and the $hite.

I wouldn't say it was far worse than the second one. They were both so appalling neither deserves ranking.
Well, that was disappointing but not unexpected, Wolves have always struggled against ex players and managers, we shouldn't have lost that game last night and had very good chances to win it. Okay the 2 cb's were at fault for both the goals, but we carried at least one passenger last night who didn't do a thing.
We certainly missed Big D last night and I hope his injury isnt too bad.
Wolves certainly know how to put us through a roller coaster ride, up one minute and down the next.
But that's football,
Onto Norwich now and you guys can watch us on the box.
