Bayern hold the monopoly on the bundesliga but nobody campaigns against them!

standing up for a noble cause to try to ensure a halt in the commercialization of the Bundesliga

This has nothing to do with morality or a noble cause. It's fans of other teams not wanting to see a team that isn't theirs succeed.

I was going to say the same thing. Currently Bayern can just buy the best players from all other teams...

When reading a few article last night i came across a great quote by a fan of a neighboring club Aue. he said:

"I've bought three season tickets (for RB leipzig). It's Bundesliga after all. But I'll be rooting for the opponents every time."

Yes, but the focus is solely on RBL due to their ownership $$$. We don't see Dortmund fans refuse to attend other teams games other than RBL do we?

It's pure jealousy. They're simply trying to make it look more noble by arguing that it goes against the traditions of German football. It's all a BS attempt to protect the status quo. God forbid a team other than Bayern or Dortmund dare to dream big in Germany.

No it isn't. It's about a football club that has gone against everything the Germans believe in and isn't "fan owned".
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh boo hoo.

Man City and the leagues in the USA are a joke.

franchise bullshotite is an american thing i think.

and of the success of the Bayern's, Utd's, Liverpoo'sl, Rangers, Celtic, Ajax and Real's of this world they never went down that road to their credit.

their are proper clubs out there and then theirs those that think they belong to that group.

There are plenty of teams not fan owned, RBL aren't the only ones.

Wolfburg, Leverkusen, Heffenheim for example.

One rule for them. One for others.

It's nothing like us of Man City. They were bought 7 years ago by Red Bull who effectively turned it into their own brand football club
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Isn't that exactly what City have done though?

-

I'm not counter-arguing. There's nothing to argue when we have different points of view on it.

Just because the German people don't want to accept what the wider football world has become doesn't mean I should side with them.

It's been years since an East German club has been in the Bundesliga, as a hangover from the communist era.

-----

You're not in a position to judge what they believe important.

---

I can judge it if I wish. I've seen clubs in this country achieve success through similar means and not thrown my toys out of the pram about it.

-

I don't think it's a bad thing. Then again I don't agree that attacking RB Leipzig fans and throwing severed bull heads onto the pitch has a place in football.

---------------------

check out attendances and the finances in Germany. See what Wolfsburg and Werder have paid for players in the past. Look at what Leverkausen are able to do. All because of the way German football is run. It isn't like Spain where until recently Real and Barca could secure their own TV deal. Everything is done right down the middle in Germany, with the added bonus of all the clubs having at least a 51% fan ownership meaning you will never see top flight clubs in the Portsmouth, Leeds, Coventry predicament. You some how think this is a bad thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But Leverkusen and Wolfburg aren't owned by the fans.

That 51% rule only applies to teams founded in the 21st century. Older clubs get different treatment.

My point regarding the 51% wasn't necessarily to do with these clubs, it was an example of clubs that show that the German league isn't a "status quo" and that other clubs are doing well, spending big and have consistently large crowds.

You have never seen a football club being bought by a company, having its name changed to include that company

-

There was no complaint at the time from the fans of either SSV Markranstädt or FC Sachsen Leipzig. Both we in deep financial trouble and this partnership merger suited all parties.
