In all seriousness, it would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic to be conceding so many late goals.
Players need a stronger mentality and the club needs to hire a sports psychologist asap
Getting rid of Di Matteo will basically fix a lot.
I'm speechless. How has this happened AGAIN???? There has to be a serious mental issue at Aston Villa. Whether it stems from high expectations and an increasing frustration as the games tick by, I just don't know. But I guess you COULD ask why our 'frightening' forward line isn't putting games away. McCormack was supposed to be the guy with the goals to fire us to promotion (2 in 8). Likewise, Kodjia (1 in 5). Ayew was chased by several Premier League clubs and several across Europe (1 in 10). The boy wonder Grealish (2 in 9). Why are we not converting? Why can we not see games out?
Five straight draws. Seven draws in eight games. No win in eight games. F-------- H----
It's a mental problem rather than a lack of talent. Our forward line on paper should be the best in the league. We really ought to have invested in a central midfielder, Elphick looks weak and even though this is not a popular thing to say Richards should play at RB as he is better than Bacuna and Hutton.
The club is so weird and has been for years, it is not lack of talent, even last season we were not the worst team on paper, in fact we had a decent set of players based on what had gone previously they just couldn't do it for us.
It's a rotten mental thing which we can't seem to shake off. If they could put together say three wins on the bounce I'm sure it would go away but they can't seem to do it.
Your a lot like the England national team at the minute in the belief that the opposition have to turn up to make up the numbers, that you are too good for everyone else and that they should just be in awe of the might aston villa...
...what you are finding out is that, rather like the England team, you are pretty hopeless and other teams are going to give you a game.
If anyone thought you were going to top the Championship with 138 points from 46 games because you won a cup in 1982 before it became what is is like today and made you a 'big team' once, those days are sadly very much over.
Welcome to the reality of the Championship boys.
