Is Santi Carzola our best midfielder?

Santi Cazorla may well be our best midfielder. "Santi Carzola" is not an Arsenal player, but presumably plays in the same team as Aaron Rasmey, Theo Waclott and Alexis Sachnez.

This may seem like a small point but it's a massive bugbear of mine because many people seem incapable of getting what is a pretty straightforward name right!

But on the point, I think Santi is fantastic, and our season went to pieces last year because he got injured and Ramsey was not capable of filling his shoes.

We need to be thinking about filling his shoes which won't be easy because his so good with both feet. We have always had a superstar in midfield so will be interesting who emerges next?

Well Cazorla I think can't handle fast paced games, such as big games. I think physically he's not up to it. But in 80% of the games, he delivers. With the right partner, such as Coq, he plays well. But in bigger games, we should be looking at more physically adept players.

Coq and Xhaka is the future .

Think I agree here coq and xhaka partnership gives us 80% of the whole in all departments!

Ever wonder why all the arsenal players say he is amazing in trainning.

Think he's our most important player. Don't have anyone else who controls the tempo like he does or has his disgusting ball retention skills in tight spaces. Like when Ozil and Sanchez play they make each other better, when Cazorla is missing our whole team just looks so much worse. Hopefully Xhaka can be his long-term replacement but he's a very different kind of player.

A lot of people questioned why Arsene was starting Coq but I still feel Xhaka is not yet up to speed with the high tempo game we need to play especially against the big teams.

He needs time and must play against teams that will sit back like Watford. Against better teams he will struggle.

Remember all the tools that wanted cazorla out!

Even at this age he is our best Mf

Most of his teammates also acknowledge this

No man, cazorla runs things. We don't have anyone close. Xhaka is good but not a cazorla, if we stick with the coq and xhaka then the wingers become paramount!

If I'm honest I can't remember any that wanted him out! Remind me who??

A lot of the Ozil fanboys wanted cazorla out

Inventor was a classic example

Obviously Ozil is our best midfielder. He's the best playmaker in football.

Cazorla is nice player to have in the squad though.

Ozil
Ramsey-Xhaka

Could be scary good.

If you're just going to go by stats, Ramsey must be our best player. Over a long period we have won 2/3s of games with him playing and 1/3 when hes not playing. Just saying.

Do you have a source for that?

This sums up my point brilliantly

I see the OJP is still going strong

Give it up Liquid. Jeez why can't you just accept the fact that Ozil is primarily just a great passer of the ball. You talk about him as though he is a player that has it all to his game. HE DOESN'T. Cazorla is the better all around player. As the article points out, even the stats say so. And we all know how you OJP lads love your stats.

Ozil is our best midfielder but Cazorla not far behind and is probably our most underrated player in the past decade alongside Sagna.

posted on 10/10/16

Ozil is a decent passer of the ball. I will give him that but at the same time cazorla has the same passing abilities with both feet.

The rest of Ozil play in open play is average. Can't believe how overrated he has become some of our fan base.

Only thing against cazorla is his age.

Castor's obsession with trying to convince us Ozil is average is baffling and frankly sad.

Is Wilshere not his "natural" successor assuming he can stay fit?

It's laughable, he moans about people overrating him yet he thinks massively underrating him is ok. It's like a mini childish Messi/Ronaldo debate where by rating one you have to slate the other at every opportunity.

My issue with Ozil is that he will have a couple of good games followed by absolutely dross.

Let's not get it twisted he has been poor this season bar Chelsea game.

Where was he at Burnley?

So many excuses are made for him - Giroud holding him back, doesn't have pace to play with etc

Castor-

Ozil isn't a highlights reel player, when other players are on form he will look incredible, when they aren't he won't. People will criticise him for this but that's the type of player he is. Where was he at Burnley? Erm, where were any of our attackers against Burnley?
I've said several times before that he isn't as good as some make him out to be but you're making him out to be bang average every chance you get. I don't get this. If he scored a few 30 yarders every now and then would this make him a better player?
