When I arrived at the ground there appeared to be a buzz about the place as distinct from the last two home games where there was no atmosphere. Hopefully we can continue to improve on and off the pitch.

Hopefully a win on Tuesday and then a tough game against the early pace setters, the udders. Have my ticket for that one. We have sold out our allocation. Will we get any more?

Very Pleased for Bradley Johnson today. He put in a very good display. A presence and used the ball well...its what we have been missing in the engine room and im still gobsmacked Pearson let that happen. Hughes class and after a shaky first 10 mins I thought Max Lowe did well. Best atmosphere from the fans in a long time. They saw not the Derby side of 2013 but a side that is heading that way.

It was a magnificent surface, the best I have ever seen a Derby home match played on.

Really pleased for Bradley, he looked strong and aware and played with strength and passion. Good passing too. Well done Bradley for sitting out during a difficult time and coming back a better player.

Pearce and Keogh were excellent, Pearce, calm and assured with Keogh a real leader, injecting urgency ensuring the tempo remained high throughout the game.

I can't remember seeing our midfield 3 Hughes, Butters & Johnson work so hard while maintaining a high level of quality, I loved it.

Now the wings, excellent down the left with Lowe/Anya although Lowe didn't bomb on as much as I would like him to. Anya does like that space to trick around in. Lowe was very good defencively. As for the other wing, that was our weakness. Defensively Ince is the worst player I have ever seen, if he is instructed to ignore players running past him into unmarked dangerous positions then I forgive him but Christie having a word with him suggest that he's just lazy. Going forward he was mainly ineffective although a great cross for the offside goal. In a similar position later on he decided to check back and play a crap pass to Vidra that was intercepted rather than the obvious bombing on into the area to have a shot or layback to the penno spot for Vydra to smack it home.

While Ince is our worst defender Christie is our worse at going forward, it's infuriating watching him run down blind allies knowing he will check back. It's like he has no idea at all of the options around him either before he gets the ball or when he's had it for a while. Defensively is more difficult because he has no support whatsoever from Ince.

Vydra had a tough game against those two monsters but never gave up, scored a good goal ruled offside that Martin wouldn't have been anywhere near. We need to be sharper in our passes to him, he knows what he's doing with it.

Fully enjoyed the game, both teams got the ball down and played fast passing football but we were better at it and created the better chances. Let's keep it going.

Roll on Tuesday.

Thanks Iwas,

I could not agree more with all you said above. It was a great game to watch and Leeds threw everything at us - and more - and we came through it.

I have reflected since last night. The two players that threatened Leeds most were Anya and Hughes, and they were the ones that brutal tackles injured such that they had to be withdrawn.

It appears to be ongoing Leeds Dirty policy to take such players out. I'm not saying Gary Monk specifically ordered it. Merely - that it's part of Leeds United philosophy to automatically play like that, imbibed with the club tea since Don Revie's days. That's why they will forever be The Dirties. I cannot remember who was the Leeds manager before Revie.

Chap called Jack Taylor, I seem to recall. From 1959 to 1961, with a win rate of 40.33%. Hope this helps 👍

Rumour has it that they weren't that dirty then.

Good take on proceedings 3R 👏

I agree, it was a good game. Especially appreciated Pearce who was calm, efficient and unspectacular....just did his job. Pleased also with Carson who seemed just to have gone up with his confidence stakes.

View from,

I was pleased for all of the players and for Mac. But it was obvious to me that Ince does not deserve to be first choice on the team sheet. Hard to put your finger on why but somehow he doesn't ever succeed at very much.

Ince was knackered way before the final whistle. The check back near the end when bombing on into the penalty area was the right choice and the choice I'd normally expect Ince to make said it all. He also stood bent over at the end for about 10 minutes, apparently too tired to move, before Keogh came up to and gave a hug.
Quite how he became so goosed is beyond me as only Carson moved less. Perhaps he was sick or something. But it's got to the stage where his lack of effort doesn't out-weigh the occasional flash of brilliance, in my opinion.

what a great feeling to to the lads playing with freedom again.they worked very hard for each other.it was also brilliant the way some of the crowd (mostly south stand I think) clapped mcclaren before the game

The North stand too. It was overall a very happy occasion. Need now to stop bickering and get on with recovering the points deficit

I thought Hughes was the least effective of our three in midfield (until Bryson apparently came on??).

Butterfield was very effective, and whilst there were a couple of stray passes, he ran things, and threw his shoulder a few times to deceive 3 opponents.

As far as I saw though, Bradley Johnson was man of the match. BY a long way. He won the corner that led to the goal, and swept up a few uncomfortable situations in our own area. His passing seemed much better than usual, but still not brilliant.

As for Lowe, he looked very steady, but I hear he may be out injured tonight.
