Oh so now we are having issues with India fielding first?
The reality is teams these days are very used to playing cricket on flat decks and the minute they step out of that they struggle. India unfortunately have stopped producing flat decks and our bowlers are outplaying other teams bowlers
Viru,
Bit early to be championing Indian bowlers when you have recently beaten a very very poor Windies team (got whitewashed by 9th ranked odi team recently) and NZ whose last 2 wins in WT20. Since then, lost to Eng, SA, 1 draw, 2 Tests in India and now this ODI. So 2/8....
Yeah Afridi agreed our limited overs record has been pretty crap, and even this game could go either way if nz can get to 200.
But I think credit should be given where due. In general people always find ways to demean india's performances
Think people have tended not to take India too seriously because over the years there is a pattern emerging where they have been very consistent at home but equally inconsistent away from home - so it's predictable... don't think that's demeaning their home achievements though
This is the problem with Dhoni..NZ were 65/7 and are now 143/8. Any sensible captain would have brought on his best bowels and try to get them out as quickly as possible within 100 runs but Dhoni has let them settle in with spin bowling.
Time for him to hang up his boots - Kohli to take over captaincy and KL Rahul the gloves.
There is no better limited overs batsman than Kohli
Apart from when it comes to knock out games
Yeh you're right actually. That's when Tendulkar comes in.
So folks now taking a dig towards Kohli as usual and forever Tendulkar phobia
I don't get it why someone mixing this ODI thread with tests n T20! Now even if they mixing up but for forgot to add that we beat Aus in Aus last time and I can add some more. All in all, I know we have lot of room to improve but due to bloody Dhobi we are suffering quite a bit. Pogback did bring a good point about Dhobi though in this game. U all may not see the difference what Kohli brought to our test team; I'm sure that India will do lot better under his guidance in future. Hope Dhobi hang his boots soon so it will be lot better for our ODI team n of course T20 too..
Also if noticed recently that India is producing pitches good for pace n swing lot more than before. We are not dependent on spin tracks so much and this may improve our record in Eng, Aus, SA when we tour them. For me that will bring lot more satisfaction if we win overseas in those countries!!
We've got Kohli you've got Azhar Ali
Azhar Ali isn't exactly in Kohli's league..
Pogback who do you support?
Kohli has done really well, especially in ODI cricket. He does have some holes in his career, but compare him to the likes of Umer Akmal who I thought was just as talented and look at where they are now.
Exactly Pogback, we've got Kohli
What was Kohli average in England again
You can have 5 kohlis - what's the point though if you come back from tours with your tails between your legs..
Let's wait until India visit England again
Until then enjoy India's wins.. The crowd has been amazing too and appreciating good cricket from both teams.
I can smell that someone's behind is burning with jealousy
Anywaz congrats to Pak for scraping the win against mighty Windies! Also I could see n hear more black crows singing in the stadium since not much folks showed up to support their amazing team huh!
Dhoni really isn't the player he once was. Wasted far too many balls and has left the team in a right pickle. Really is entering the final twilight of his career imo. India looking likely to lose this game off the back of some really poor batting. New Zealand doing well though.
Patel again throwing his wicket away to a full toss
I told u folks way before that Dhoni is way past his prime and on top of it a lousy captain too!
Bad luck Pandya but he showed Dhobi how to bat!
India need ten runs in last over with one wicket left. Credit to Pandya for the fight back but unfortunately our captain has none of it..
