I remember that season fondly, back then I was pleased just to be in the UEFA cup which after years of mediocrity was a big step forward.

I remember that cup run and in particualr the Sevilla game because...

in the away leg, we took the lead through keane and were in control but they were awarded one of the worst penalty decisions i have seen when Robbo came out to gather a ball got both his hands on it and the player went over his arms. Shocking and it turned the game.

The home leg was, despite going 2-down early, one of the the best atmospheres I can remember at WHL. We sang Martin Jols Blue & White Army non stop through the 2nd half and our come back was so near yet so far.

I think I am also right in that after the 1st leg in Sevilla, which was played later than usual due to some local festival, ending at midnight or something, we then played Chelsea at the bridge at noon on the Saturday, literally 36 hours later....i think it was the game where Gallas got that worldie from about 30 yards in the dying seconds

I loved our time under Jol. It was the first time in ages we had really competed with the top teams and the first time in ages we were European regulars.

I was there and it was one of the best away trips I've done tbh.

Stayed in cologne and had a great time

Our team has come so far since then. The only players from that starting line up who would have started tonight are King (over Dier), Malbranque (over donkey Lamela) & Berba (over Janssen).
