Klopp and Jose have a lot in common. Both won titles and then nearly got their club relegated before being 'let go'.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
By 'let go' you mean of course that he asked to leave.....
I'm confused why people expected a team to come to Anfield against Liverpool who have been getting better and better and look like a team, with a new manager and players who are not yet functioning as a team and attack. It was never gonna happen. It was just good management by Mourinho. He knew they'd lose any other way.
Perhaps we could have tried something different however, like two strikers. We didn't so a draw was the likely outcome.
You can't be too downbeat, they've taken all points from us the last couple of seasons so I see it as a point gained. With our fixtures so far, overall, we've done very well.
Agree TOOR, I don't get the reaction, United set up to try score early and if not then sit in and take the point or maybe nick a win on the break / set piece, nothing wrong with these tactics and in a way a compliment to us that Jose knew he couldn't try stand toe to toe and play or we would have a much better chance of winning, he did what most teams who come to Anfield will do and this time it worked and he got a good away point that he needed to relieve some pressure.
Having lost 4 in a row I'll take a draw and move on and hope we can get at least a point in OT when we meet i I think late January?
Fergie did the same for years, come and stifle the game, quieten the crowd and try get out with a 1-0 / 0-0, Fergie's teeams probably went for it more in the last 15 mins but they generally had better attackign options like John O'shea but really Imean Rooney / teves etc.
You know what it reminded me of, Floyd Maywaether v Paquiao, loads of build up and hype, the actual game was poor and united were like Floyd, stick to a game plan and get the result, I'm surprised so many didn't think this was exactly how the game would go, the onus was on us to break then down and we came close once or twice but just wasn't enough.
I didn't expect them to attack, but I what I'm interested in is how a support weened on expansive football adjusts to a manager who is famed for his defensive football.
I suppose the bottom line will be whether he is successful or not, but when you've spunked millions and set up not to lose with a club who in part has built it's reputation playing fast attacking football, divisions will quickly surface. Add in a Mourinho meltdown it could all go t!ts up fairly quickly

It all depends on where they finish, like if away draws at rivals is backed up by good home wins and they get top 4 then it's all relevant, fans won't care about these dull draws, the points all add up.
But say this time next year if they have finished outside the top 4 and no trophies to show, and he's still doing the same then fans may begin to turn.
But right now that point was a good point and they continue to develop, Jose has had some good attackign teams over the years and at united has the money and squad to do the same.
My only real question is if they finish 5th will he keep his job, personally think it would be stupid to sack him if he did get 5th or lower this year but plenty of their fans seem to think it's top 4 or gone.
The person who should be getting sacked is whoever okayed the pogba deal.
He's a decent player but that's it, they've massively overpaid.
Mind you saying that all the barbers in London must be making a bomb as all the young manu fans keep up with his hairstyles........

I am sure he will. Will he improve enough to justify the ridiculous fee, that remains to be seen.

Signs are that we are starting to get back to the free flowing football ways. With Jose, you get what it says on the tin.
Everyone knows he sets up to make it hard to beat him in the big away games. As a United fan, I really don't have an issue with that.

I actually enjoyed the first half. Second half not at all.
We did give you guys a sporting chance though by starting with Fellaini and keeping him on.
Once Jose swapped Rashford for Wazza, though, I knew he was happy taking the point.
Klopps first sub tells me he was quite happy with a draw as well, to be honest.

He took a striker off (the only real striker you had on the pitch) and put on a midfielder.
His other subs (85mins and then a minute later - why not have them both ready to send on together?) were not adding any extra bodies further forward were they?
Bringing on Origi for Firmino, who had moved up front. Like for like - why not bring off a defensive midfielder or a defender if you are desperately chasing a goal? And then a minute later swapping LB for LB. Hardly suggests Klopp wasn't satisfied with a draw.
We brought off a striker who wasn't playing well and brought on a midfielder who has arguably been our star performer this season who is crucial to our pressing game. It is no coincidence that we started to threaten more when he came on. So bringing Lallana on for Sturridge was a positive move, not a defensive move.
