Always want to beat the rags. On the other hand one of the joys of the league cup is that you don't have to care too much. They need the win more than us. Rest DeBruyne and Silva and just feckin go for it.
Silva has been our most consistent player this season, wouldn't mind if he's on the bench.
De Bruyne seems to have gone off the boil, this might help him get his mojo back.

We will.
You should be ok though with our current tactic of shooting ourselves in the foot at every oppurtunity.
Who do you predict will win between Bristol City v Hull City, Inky?

I think DeBruyne has been brought back a bit too quickly. Silva has been absolutely magic in some of our games this season, but he looked a little jaded on Sunday. Give Kelechi a go. He seems to enjoy Old Toilet.
Should be a good game... After our humiliation at the weekend and with Bailly out, I suspect there will be PLENTY of protection for our back four.
Just like against Chelsea an early goal could result in a decent game, else it'll evolve into another war of attrition a la Red Monday...
Sadly I don't think pep will want to just batter the baastards as I do
So expect very much a second string side
Caballero
Maffeo Kompany Otamendi Clichy
Garcia Fernando Gundogan
Navas Iheanacho Sane
Could still be good enough to smash the filthy rag baastards though
Are you swampside on Wednesday Boris?
Is it rag baastards or rag bastaards? or am I missing a filthy?
Oh they're filthy all right
Dirty filthy rag baastards
If we come away with a narrow defeat we'll have made a vast improvement from Sunday.
Our wounds are wide open and City have ordered the salt. That's how I'm looking at it.
You're certainly wide open. I'm hoping City scrapped the salt and bought the thickest longest floppiest dilldo they could get their mits on though.
Four at the back would be nice, take Stones out of the firing line - even saw someone on twitter blaming him for England's defeat to Iceland after the backpass that wasn't on Sunday. Starts for Gundogan, who is still getting to grips with things, Sane, and Itchy for me.
No doubt if Sergio and Silva are rested they'll be the next ones 'for the chop' in the papers the following day regardless of the result.
Not really ar5ed anyway, think I'm working
City could field 4/5 fringe players and still beat us. We have no idea what we're doing presently. We seem to not even try at times too. There was minimal effort at Chelsea from lots of our players.
1-3 City.
This has all the makings of a classic.

What drivel is this?
Before the debacle at the weekend we had won four and drawn two of our previous six games. Bet you weren't saying we have no idea what we're doing after the Fenerbahce game.
If Jose sets us up as we have been playing at home using the 4-1-2-3 with Mata next to Pogba, I expect a decent game. If he uses the abomination that is the defensive 4-2-3-1/6-2-1-1, we will be on the receiving end, scoreline or otherwise, of a battering.
Itchy up front, are Fernando and Delph fit? If they are then give them some game time, Navas to get a run at a flimsy defence and the chance to practice putting a cross in and Sane some more time on the pitch which probably means Navas on the left and then cutting in. Couple of youngsters at the back along with Vinny. It will be interesting to see if he goes to 3 at the back at any stage of the game, it isn't something that seems to come easily to any team but Chelsea seem to be making it work now after a few weeks of struggling with it. I don't think it is something you can just do for the odd game, at least until the players have adapted. The defence needs to bring confidence to the team and at the moment seems to bring panic instead.
I think he'll rest a few, but he'll still want to win the game. It is one that you can gamble a bit with, the up side of losing is creating a bit of space in a very congested set of fixtures. I think Maureen needs to have at least a good performance here. The difference between him and Pep is that you can see what Pep is trying for and have a bit of faith that it will come togther. Where as Mourhino just looks confused to me. It's not his squad and he doesn't seem to have a clue how to get the best out of them.
