The best managers will always make use of what they have and look to gradually bring in players in areas they might feel the team is week in. Klopp said in his very first press conference he was satisified with a lot of what the squad already had and it was simply about fine tuning it to get the best out of the players and the system. He has turned Lallana into a completely different player for example - hard work was always there but now consistency and goals have been added to his game.

Rodgers had final say on transfers as does Klopp. Bit of a none story.

Rodgers was unable to get the best out of the players, even his own.

It's a little bit more than refining if we're honest. Milner and Lallana are now playing in different positions and Karius, Matip, Wij and Mane are all new signings!

I'm not entirely sure what your point is, either it was the transfer committee and they should be due some credit? Or it was Rodgers and he's due some credit?

Whichever way you look at it, all the players you mentioned weren't playing well for Rodgers. They are for Klopp.

I don't know about the committee but I can say FSG have spent half a billion to win a league cup which sounds pretry bad! We've been in 4 or 5 finals and had a strong league challwnge in that time to be fair so we can say we've been competitive.

Looking through though: http://www.transferleague.co.uk/liverpool/english-football-teams/liverpool-transfers

The summers of 13/14 and 14/15 were horrendous.

I used to moan about money pished on the likes of Ilori and Alberto (£14m there) who never really got near first team football. Grujic at £5m will be an improvement in types of signing and I'd rather promote from within and then sell if needed (Ibe, Smith and Sinclair) than what seemed like random punts.

Also the caveat to saying the transfers don't look bad now is that there has been a massive change in value. £25m for Lallana looks good business at the moment but it was A LOT of money. Ditto Lovren.

Definite in improvement in both signings and performance though. it's going well!

It's all thanks to the hard work put in by Roy Hodgson.

My point was that both BR and the transfer committee deserve some credit for the signings they made at the time, thats all

I think BR did get credit for his signing where due. Henderson has been rated by our fans for ages, just not rival fans and they're hardly a gauge.

Lallana always had ability but in fairness, it's the position shift that's really made him shine. Yeah BR signed a talented player but it's Klopp that's realising that talent.

Pretty much every player we sign will have ability though. It's about whether they have the temperament to play at our level and whether the manager has the right way of playing to get the best out of them. I'm not saying BR was all bad here but there were some big misses and the current hits almost excentuate the previous misses.

GB you are so quick to write these articles. They players haven't achieved anything yet, I don't get how these sorts of articles are merited to be honest.

Win a trophy then get excited. Not just because we've had decent form for 8 games.

Thus far Klopp's hands are a dark shade of finest brown. He's proven the old addage wrong.....so far.

Henderson was a Kenny / Comoli signing

Rodgers signed Coutinho and Sturridge amongst others so he must be given credit. The difference now we can see between Rodgers and Klopp is that when things go bad, Rodgers lost his enthusiasm towards the players whilst Klopp stays positive. Rodgers was right on one player though and that's Moreno who even Klopp's magic is impermeable to.
