Harry Kane

Personally don't think Kane being back will help Tottenham all that much he was hardly pulling up any trees at the start of the season. Tottenham's main problem is the style of play Pochetino wants to play which is fine when you have one important game a week now you have two or three games a week I think that high intensity game simply won't work as the players can't maintain that level continuously.

Yes, he has been badly missed. At first, not so much, because Super Son was stepping up to the plate. In recent games, however, Son has been anonymous and has looked bang average.

I like Janssen - and he's clearly doing all he can to make things worse - but he's not Kane. We need something to get our season going again; I think, like you say, Kane can be that spark.

6 games without a win and we haven't really looked like winning any of them. Something has to change. Confidence is low at the moment, but we need to be braver, we need to have confidence in our ability as we did in the City game.

Toby is also a big miss in my opinion, not only has Toby been missing, but it has meant Dier has been taken from his holding midfielder role, both Dier and Toby were key to Spurs last season, along with Kane.

You will be surprised. Just Kane's presence alone will give the team a huge lift. Yes I agree he wasn't playing well before his injury but he still scored 2 goals this season and was looking like scoring where as Janssen at the moment can't score in a brothel. Kane coming back will be a huge boost.

I just hope the break has refreshed him because he wasn't at his best before the injury and was looking a little jaded, mentally as well as physically. I think the same can be said of a few of the other players; Dier, Eriksen, Son, maybe they could do with a break. If only they had more competition for their places.

he looked absolutely cack for ages, but what he does do is shoot at least. we are not even creating any chances to shoot at the moment.

it is dismal, dismal stuff

Exactly chronic, Harry Kane will make and create chances for himself. Yes he's selfish and frustrating at times but it's the reason why he is so brilliant. Janssen looks incapable of creating any sort of goal scoring chance at the moment.

he doesn't get any chances because we have no creativity in the side at the moment.

Re Janssen, to be fair to the lad it was always a big ask throwing him in to replace Kane. He needs a season settling in playing in the EFL and FAC.

Reckon it is the system of play which is letting you down as you aint creating anything plus the form of Eriksen who as a senior member of the squad. He has no excuses.

Your style of play is very un-Spursy. Ozzie Ardiles didn't sign for Totting-haam to close down your opponent and stop them playing. I like the old Spurs when you used to attack everyone. At least you had an aura and image to be admired (well sort of).

If your pinning your hopes on Kane then think you'll be disappointed.

This isn't the team we had last season... same players different circumstances.

Players had full preseason after a nice break and was ready to go ( but Kane as he played summer football )

This year the players are shattered from a season of full pelt double training sessions then a summer tournaments and straight back into the league.

Not enough break not enough decent pre season.

Dembele gone back two years to the injury prone inconsistent player hasn't helped either

We do need Harry back, if only for his free kicks.

calm down lads your missing your best striker and best defender.

pretty sure any team in the land would struggle.

alders seems to set loads of attacks up too with his raking diagonals.

I don't think I will mate. I think he's a lot more dangerous than Janssen and actually is selfish enough to constantly create chances for himself which at the moment is what we need. Kane can create a chance from nothing as proved by his brilliant goal against Arsenal last season at the lane. Janssen is getting poor service I agree but dosen't even look remotely like he's going to score. Harry Kane coming back will be a huge boost.

Though I rate Kane, I agree with what Hengy said earlier. Spurs looks the shadow of themselves.

We definitely didn't look a shadow against City. And if we pick it up against Arsenal and beat them, I'll be less inclined to believe that's the main problem and more a case of going through a blip while missing our best players.

To be brutally honest they owe us a performance against Arsenal now. Last night was embarrassing as it was a champions league game in front of a record crowd. They owe us one

They've owed us since their bottle job at the end of last season. Newcastle game was more of a disgrace than last night.

I didn't boo (never booed spurs off before), but I have no problem with those that did - last nights performance was boredline a disgrace. some of the 'defending' was pub standard. where was the professional pride?

one of the worst spurs performances I have seen (relatively speaking given the ability level of the team/squad/manager) since the dross that I was raised on throughout the mid 90s
