De Jong to Man City - he would've been available for FREE had they signed a pre-contract and waited 6 months. They paid £18m for him. MADNESS

Using that logic

Any player with 1 year left on his contract, for example.

Kaka to Man City

comment by ManCitizens. Only here cos of City
surely united would have had to wait a year to get him not 6 months!

posted on 8/9/11

Yes and we would have had to wait a year to get De Jong, a pre contract agreement means they are agreeing to sign for your club when the contract was up. As it happens we paid 17m and you paid 16m to guarentee the signing as well as getting them when needed.
