Have to disagree about Hololens Melton, Magic Leap has been leading the AR charge, and gaining a lot of interest.
But VR and AR for that matter are here to stay, but who comes out on top in either of those fields is anyones guess.
Sorry, what are you disagreeing about? I didn't say anything about comparing it to its competitors or anything, I just said it looked cool.
AR is cool, but I'm just pointing out Magic leap has somewhat superseeded Hololens in the AR arena, which is quite an achievement considering they haven't showed that much.
AR is though in many ways the more lucrative market, with anylysts predicting it to be worth many times what VR will be, and VR will be worth plenty.
Even though you are still arguing a point that wasn't even made in the first place, what are you basing that on? It's not an achievement if it's just in your head...
You obviously don't know much about Magic Leap Melton, But lets leave it at that, I was just pointing out all the talk these days is about Magic Leap.
That's because no one does, there isn't much to know yet unless I've missed a press release? Are you suggesting it is getting more exposure because I don't see how that has any grounding in fact at all. I don't get how you can say something ridiculously subjective as something to argue a point that wasn't made anyway.
You of all people should know that it's down to audience size and demographic though, otherwise you'd be writing about the virtues of owning a Rift...
My reasons for bringing up Magic Leap is because of the amount of investment it has received on the back of it's behind doors (for the most part) showings.
Magic Leap and it's huge and I mean huge over $1 billion in investments, trust me the noise in the AR world is all around Magic Leap and is the one getting most attention.
And the demographic for AR goes way, way beyond PC, it has far bigger markets, which is why it is expected to be even more lucrative than VR.
