This is good for the England national team because it’s mostly foreigners who play for the big teams in the prem so they will get worn out and won’t perform for their foreign countries. England players are mainly on the bench so the Prem having such a congested fixture list will mean England should win the world cup next year.

Don't see the issue, it only happens once in the season and most clubs expect 2 games in 48-72 hours.
As for my club we play at 1500 on NYE then we are the early game on the 2nd Jan 1230 kick off.
So we are in the same boat with 2 games in under 48 hours, it will never change and if the players can't perform twice in under 48 hours just once in a 12 month period then there is something wrong with them.

Nothing will change as Sky/BT call the shots over one of their busiest viewing periods.

It's not ideal but it is what it is. 6 pts up for grabs and we have a squad and will have to use it to maximise our chances of getting them.

We showed against Spurs in the League Cup that we can play high quality football with a much changed team. A performance similar to that would be ample to beat Blunderland.

To all the muppets thinking I am just moaning about our fixtures my point is that we hammer all the clubs players at xmas. All the best sports scientists and coaches for each club have stated that it is not enough rest time in between each game.

Footballers are athletes now and they need rest.

This is the sort of situation which will be the real test of LFC. You play an energetic full paced style, which can't really accommodate too many jaded players, especially as your defence always seems to leak a goal.

This Xmas schedule, followed by the jan fixtures, especially if you make the EFL SFs will be a real test which, if you come through well, will bode well for the rest of the season.

Chaps I was pointing out that 2 games in 48 hours is ridiculous not just for our club but all clubs.

No other countrey gives players burn out like ours. Every manager complains every year but the FA think about money and TV
