I feel England have to take two or three wickets within the first hour or they will be looking down the barrel of 500+ and scoreboard pressure will be a strong factor in a tough few days thereafter.
India's tail have show that they can hang around and score so every chance needs to be gobbled up.
Agree U2
I know especially two folks here are obsessed with me . Even when I'm not around they are dreaming about me ๐
Back to cricket, England gets Kohli soon then may be possible for them to get rid of tail quickly.. Not every time I expect them to hang around..
Is it really a surprise pal as to who those posters are - happens on every Cricket thread.
Yup Kav.. I want to add another poster who tries to act neutral but always tends to support Pakistani fans even when they are extremely abusive..

Ok creating another thread but judging by comments here you have the same issues. Think we just got to accept these cricket boards as they are. Unfortunate
3Lions, I don't think we'll have the same issues here. I think a few are venting a little which is ok as it's overnight and not massively disrupting to the cricketing discussion which should start in earnest tomorrow morning.
Today was a bad day at the office. Flat wicket. Belting hot day. Batters dream.
Cooks captaincy was questionable again. We had India at 36-2 and his first change was to Ansari and not Ali or Rashid. Strange
Force..
May be Cooky not so confident on Ali or Rashid.. But Ansari is not the answer either.. Poor lad may be confused or stressed

If he has no confidence in his 2 specialist spinners then why have they been picked?
Ansari was exposed today unnecessarily and it got him in the field.
Lets hope fot a better day 2mrw
Can't blame Cooky much as he was given these below average spinners by selectors.. Also u don't have Swann class type spin bowlers anymore for England. But I'm sure that Cooky is happy that Andy is back.. Im sure he missed him in first test

U2,
As 3lions was commenting about this thread but he always fails to acknowledge crap like this mentioned below in his thread. I am sure you must be well aware of this poster who has managed to destroy many threads on this site. We don't talk crap and just enjoy cricket. 3lions could have easily corrected him right away but time & time again he chooses to ignore.

No, just a tiny little erection..
--------------------------------------------------------------------
facty, that's the end of it on this thread. no need to bring any baggage here.
England had the chance to get India out for less than 400 but, once again, Ashwin and the tail wag and wag hard.
India still needs to get at least 450.. England has the batting line up to fight back and has the longest tail but they need to apply it.. If they don't feel the scoreboard pressure, game will be wide open.. This pitch will test their mental capabilities and if they prevail and then I'm sure they can win the series.. From India's perspective, I'm glad that old Gamby n shorty Mishra have been shown the door..
This partnership will be disillusioning for England. I think, if they'd got India for 400, they would have batted with more confidence and less pressure.
Each run added now is just taking that advantage away and now it will be more pressure and less confidence.
Score 500 and I expect England to lose and lose heavily.
Key wicket for England as Ashwin goes. He averages 55 in test match cricket this year and has pretty much the same average against England. Didn't bowl the best last game but his contribution at 6 is vital for India.
If it wasn't for Ashwin's batting, I think India would surely have lost the last test. He's pulled them out of a little hole again today.
Even the last two wickets put on 28.
England have just got to get to the close no more than 3 down.
If India don't have England at least 3 down by the close of play they are more than in this game. Shami bowled a beauty to Cook though.
Really can't see England getting out of this without a really good hiding.
Obviously, batting all the way down helps but they've somehow got to get near the follow on target and take up overs doing so. India won't be letting England off the hook now.
Also been quite happy with Kohlis captaincy this series so far. Aggressive when needed plus brilliant with the bat. Field sets have been okay too - passive with the sweepers but men around bat when needed.
I think England did well to get to 255 in the end. Good start in the field but Kohli is a class apart at the moment. Can't see a run chase less than well over 400 and that should be telling.
Only chance is to go hard and take the last 6 wickets before lunch or soon thereafter.
Waste of time getting up early for this. England's two blockers have gone already and now a further five have gone before lunch.
Duckett has had two tests. I'd bring back Buttler and give him a go for the rest of the series.
Ansari can go too. Not a threat with ball or bat.
