Watching the collision on Saturday I did notice he landed awkwardly as well as taking a whack on the head. Magnificent player, but he has no luck whatsoever.
He seems to be playing fewer and fewer games each season. He's not played more than 75% of league games for about 5 seasons.
Desperately unlucky and he'll continue to get my support for as long as he's at the club.
It's a real pity, in a PL with a dearth of top quality CBs he was, when fit and at his best, a genuinely world class one.
Always seems like a decent, intelligent, articulate bloke too.
I remember reading this a while back and laughing, so now seems like the right time to search for it and post it here https://twitter.com/jackosborne/status/727949105943687168
A great footballer but comes across as a better human being so I will always support him. Can't think of too many footballers that have his class, one or two but very few.
I tend not to feel sorry for footballers, many earning a Kings ransom and generally being complete priicks.
But you have to feel for Vincent, he has loads of luck but all bad.
he had a concussion? when i first saw the collision it was his knee that got me, leg twisted horribly
The guy is utter class on and off the pitch. Real shame for him. If you had a fit prime kompany in your team now, you'd win the cl I reckon.

Despite not being at my club, he gets my full support too.
As a fan of football, i'm gutted for his latest setback. Fantastic player and equally a gent.
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery
Kompany is one of the best defenders in the world but the past few years he's been very unlucky with injuries. He seems like a top bloke too off the pitch and I'm sure everyone respects him and wants to see him recover soon and get back to his best, just not against Arsenal
He's erudite articulate and intelligent such a shame his luck with injuries has been this bad.
What a captain and servent to McFc.
