Up until the 1st goal I honestly thought it was going to be one of those matches where we try everything but don't score. Can safely say we ground out the result today.
I am no doubt talking with me red tinted glasses on but I honestly can not recall other of the challengers for top 4 coming up against so many teams totally going defensive against them. Even Southampton at their patch admitted they went for a draw. It is therefore encouraging we are seeing our defence now not letting in silly goals and we are able to find a way to get past these teams.
I did not GB
I agree goofy, I think it's shown by every side that we've played the opposition manager has said were the best attacking team in the league.
I don't blame teams for going defensive, that's how you pick up points against us. For too long we haven't been able to crack a side that parks the bus, klopp seems to be fixing that.

He probably skips past anything you write.
I actually do tend to skip GBs articles
Obviously it's the only way opposition teams getting something from the game, but you just worry how boring it could get if it happens every game! And we've still got some of those coming up until Everton and Man City who might play the same way, you never know.
I still don't think we have the quality to break teams down every game, especially if Coutinho is out for a while. You need a bit of luck and lots of patience, which we seem to finally be getting this year, and Klopp is instilling it in this team.
i am sorry but what? 13 games played and we are prems top scorers and sit 1 point off the lead, we were missing Lallana, Studge and Couts (for the most part) and we break down a team that played 8-2-0..but we dint have the quality!!
what more proof do you NEED man!
It was a cross come shot from Origi and a penalty. Sunderland had no other thought but to park the bus, and if every team does that sooner or later we could come unstuck, because it is only recently teams have played this way against us. And missing Coutinho for a length of time only compounds this.

Feck me, you certainly know how to take the gloss off a win....
If teams come and park the bus I have confidence that Klopp will come up with a workable solution.
We do need to win a few free kicks around the box when the opposition does park the bus. Will be a decent method to have a crack on goal and open the game up.
Bloody hell Millsie what happens when we lose? You must be on suicide watch 😀
I am really happy we won, im just looking towards the future worried that this might happen every game. Klopp said Sunderland were the most defensive team he had seen and it almost worked. Every manager we come up against now will see this and try to stop us, that cant be entertaining.
Nah I'm not having it that we're too good to the point it gets harder.
Games like that are perfect for Sturridge as he's more likely to do something on his own but Lallana would have helped as well.
I'm unconcerned and thought we played well second half.
