With Man City's funds and the amount of money that is spent every summer their squad is very weak. Also Guardiola failed to get what he needed this summer. Is only their own fault.

Don't you get bored of being a big fish in a small pool. I know smashing Rangers is fun but doesn't it get a bit repetitive?

All this chopping and changing at the back with different formations and wingers playing at the back. Any other manager and people would have said he doesn't have a clue.

Not in a game like that. Klopp has done the same thing in the league cup - games that do matter a bit more,

Bridge

That also applies to chelsea. You are doing well playing once a week playing the same players, and have already been crowned champs by most.
But you used your squad players in the cup and got knocked out!

I was ignoring that one - I think most teams would be happy to have a squad as 'weak' as ours. Chelsea are very dependent on two players. It aint over till the fat lady sings.

definetly not over. But we need to start finishing teams off. Also like the look of arsenal and obviously Liverpool doing well.

I quite enjoyed it last night. The one thing with having a poor defence (and poor cover for that defence) is it makes for enjoyable games!

Zabaleta looks like he can cover in the Fernandinho role, which is the major thing really. That and Sane when he gets going looks like he can be very dangerous, it's just whether that is only going to be in one or two minute spurts.

I thought the youngsters did well last night. One of the stand out performances for me though, was Fernando.

No one has mentioned him. He put in a solid 90 minutes. Can't think of anything he did wrong to be honest.

Gundogan was the stand out player on the pitch and Caballero staked a claim for a start on Saturday.

I was quietly impressed with Celtic. I know they were playing a drastically weakened side but they were quick all over the pitch, moved the ball and were very well organised defensively.

Agree with all of that fish. That's the first time I've seen Fernando play the ball quickly, we were doing a lot of one touch passing that I didn't think he was capable of.

The repetitive bit is playing everyone 3-4 times a season. All fans want change but the SFA are self protectionists.

That aside most teams play against us as if it's their cup final and our league is the means to get to games like last night, Borussia and Barca; albeit I am sick of the sight of them.

So no. It's not boring. 👍

I should also have mentioned Scott Brown for Celtic

I thought he played really well. You could see his experience and influence on the rest of the team come to the fore.

I'm not keen on Brenda and let's be honest, he should win the lot domestically up there. That said, this Celtic team seem to have a bit about them.

I reckon they have a really good chance to qualify from the Group Stages next season if they can keep their best players and bring 2-3 quality players in.

Do you need tickets for Leicester Melts?

I'm in the Leicester end Paul (well, hospitality!) with the in laws. Thanks for asking though

I was generally pleased with everyone last night considering it was an experimental side.

Cerdit to Zabba (as usual) for just getting on with the job in what was an unfamiliar position.

The young lads didn't disgrace themselves and Fernado looked more assured than I've ever seen him before.

Zab's through ball to uncle kelechi was delicious.

Paddy Roberts looked impressive, would there be space in the team though with Sterling, Sane, Gabrial and Navas?

posted on 7/12/16

Hopefully not and we get to keep him 👍
