I've still not played the first one, every

I had a 360 when it was first released, and have never gotten round to buying it for the PS4 yet, despite it looking like the exact kind of game I'd really enjoy, and the ridiculously good reviews of it.

Bought it earlier this week for £19, and will wait until i'm off for a fortnight over xmas to play it

Mike you have made a wise choice!

And I'm not the PC game type, I'm an armchair gamer and love games I can pick up and have a session, but equally leave for long periods of time!

I envy you Mike, I hope you don't know too much about the story, The game starts strong, slows down then picks up again halfway through and doesn't let up.

Play it to the end, you will not be disappointed

Exactly this. Sets the tone for the rest of the game.

Horrible to contemplate, but reaaaaaallly good.

Such a dissapointment. God it got so boring
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Konami is to blame for releasing an unfinished game. Though still game of the year and got me my usual emotional MGS moments. Played just under 300 hours.

MGS was released at least a year too early Konami's money problems meant they decided to release it early, was part of the reason for Kojima leaving

Delboy MGS V is a great game. When it came out it was a great game......just not a MGS game. It seems more of a break down in communications between Kojima and Konami. What is there is mechanically very very good but I think Kojima didn't want to do another MGS game, so we end up with V. Technically a great game, story wise only 20% a MGS game.

The problem was that half of chapter 2 and chapter 3 was fully scrapped. It was all in development, we even see cutscenes of chapter 3 that was never used. It's such a shame. If the game was made as intended it would be an even bigger masterpiece.

To be honest, storywise it was better than most MGS games. With better I refer to the explenations. If you like long cutscenes with short intervals then yes, it's a bad MGS game.

I do like long cutscenes, but the gameplay kept me captivated. Sneaking at night with 80's songs playing, trying to get that S rank was exhilirating. I was also pleased to see the connection with the Original MGS games of Nintendo. It all makes sense now. Hoping to see those games getting a remake, that would be awesome.

It didn't feel like the 1980s

Im sure nobody here knows how the 80's truly felt in Afghanistan and Africa...

Just completed it on survivor mode, died many times but got there in the end.

Not bad for my second playthough
