And what was your sorry excuse when you couldn't even make it to the group stages - some carp team from the bottom half of the Romanian league were too strong for you ?

Don't want to get all Barry but he does hit the nail on the head sometimes. I imagine he would write something along the lines of;

Spurs need to rotate their players in cups in order to qualify for cups via the league so going out of cups early is a good thing so they can qualify for the cups.

Just to put some perspective into this argument the 62k we got last night is bigger than our new capacity, Chelseas proposed new capacity and the Emirates.

Surprisingly good gate considering how rotten our CL campaign has been and how little was at stake.

to be fair Mamba we ignored the CL to try qualify for the CL and ended up in the Europa so we're not in a place to give grief over that.

I thought it was interesting that both Rodgers and Poch did that, resting players in the CL for a league game that weekend, 2 young managers so expect soem mistakes, was a big blow to Rodgers at Liverpool, he lost lots of fans that night in Madrid.

Spurs need to take this competiton seriously and win the damn thing.
