Nothing in common with the fans? What more does any club have in common with the fans?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In the case of my club there are plenty of things the club have in common (a better way of putting it would have been to say better connection between the fans and club) with us fans. There's generations of bonds and history passed down over the years.
Would I feel the same if my local club was taken over by a fizzy drinks corporation and used predominantly as an advertising tool?
Erm no.

Walh bro would you be happy with Kitkat Coventry winning the league with Cilit Bang Chesterfield, Tinder Tamworth and Angry Birds Accrington Stanley making up the top 4 and Man Utd get relegated cos they don't have as much money as those corperations?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that's never going to happen so...

Bonds of history?
The only connection you need is the connection between the players on the pitch giving it their all and the fans in the stands cheering them on. That's all you need to have a club.

Why not? Because fans of other teams would be quite annoyed at big corporations buying rubbish little clubs and pouring money into them to get success?
Because that's not possible. man Utd are rich themselves.

Facebook Farnborough would be richer. United are getting relegated wahly. And it's all because of you.
And what Messi and Ronaldo would just move to Facebook farnborough? You know this example is just exaggerated
Wahl
Yes bonds AND history is what I said.
For example my Dad used to tell me stories of players he's seen play, managers that have managed us and games he's seen before I started going to match. Just like his Dad, my Grandad (born in the 1920's) told him. I've been the match with generations of my family and know everytime I walk into Anfield I'm walking into a place my family walked before me. There is a link between the club and me that transcends my life that I'll pass on to my lad.
Can the same be said of Corporation FC?
Erm no.
Is that stuff really important to you? Isn't it just a game you watch every week?

Of course it is. Those that go the match will understand.
RB Leipzeg are doing well at the moment. But the real test will be when they aren't doing so well. For some fans (I couldn't say what percentage) it will be easy to drop them and move onto the next club that has a few bob, or has got a certain manager in.
If you say so. None of that stuff really matters to me. I enjoy seeing small teams doing well and trying to be better

Angry Birds Accrington Stanley, how could you support a team with a name like that

interesting read, you can understand some of the sentiment though there's a lot of hypocrisy
A LOT of hypocrisy.
Football is a game and here's a team trying to win the game and be as successful as they can. It doesn't matter if it's red bull or whatever, it's still 11 players on a pitch kicking a football around - what else is there to football?
Face it, the way the rabid commercialism of the prem means it won't be long before we have Manchester Unilever vs Shellsea at Old Toyota live on Fox Friday, KO 10am to accommodate the Asian market.
