was awesome
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wasnt concentrating properly and read that as Roman CATHOLIC
Last year I got an ice cube tray, and the holes to freeze the ice were Titanic shaped.
One year a cricket bat, I had it for years.
Another year a Mecano set.
I was spoilt. My father was the head of the toy department in the MASSIVE Co-op Retail store in Plymouth.
The things he used to being home made me the envy of my peers when I was a lad.

Yeah, I remember vividly, they had a fully working scale model of Tower Bridge made out of Meccano.
When my father asked the General Manager what he wanted to do with it after Christmas, the manager said "chuck it away"
Instead, my father dismantled the whole thing and brought it home to me in 4 or 5 rather larges boxes.
I was as happy as pigs in sheite!!
Action Man for Christmas 1966 was one of the best. They were 32 shillings and 6 pence in old money and in the basic combat fatigues. I was given the parachutist kit as an extra and you saved the stars/tokens on the side of the carton. Once you collected 21 stars you sent off to Palitoy for another Action Man.

Unreal.
Optimus Prime Christmas 1984.
My Grandparents gave me a Flying Scotsman train and a Mamod steam engine. My Dad ruined it by saying they had spoilt me by giving too much 😕
Pre teen: Millennium Falcon.
Post teen: can't recall anything specific. A case of lager after I'd turned 18 maybe.
Always a new pair of football boots!
ATAT And Millenium Falcon 1983
Only one present worth having in late sixties, boxing day match tickets in double decker.
After day with relatives and have to be on best behaviour, spending all day being polite to aged Aunts and Uncles,Boxing day home matches were sacred.
First time we saw fixture list it was always "who have got at Christmas?".
Didn't matter who, as long as it was at home.
Santa wore red , so he was a Forest fan.
Mention of Boxing Day matches in the late 60's, the one that really stands out was the Spurs (or non-Spurs match as it turned out to be) when the pitch was frozen if I'm right and the game was postponed until 3 or 4 days after the '69 Final. Terrible conditions persisted into the January and beyond.
I remember Jimmy Greaves complaining about the hotel they were put into-no heating, no nothing, just miserable conditions and he thought the City staff had done this deliberately. Someone who knows better might be able to confirm this. I have a programme from that postponed match and saw the match when it was played in the April.
Boxing Day '67 didn't go down too well for different reasons.
My favourite Christmas present as a kid was the time I was let out of the downstairs cupboard and allowed to eat at the table with mum and dad. It was just for an hour but it was fab
